I recently moved to a new house and temporarily don't have my satellite dish connected. I'm currently watching network TV and miss my History Channel. I'm addicted to it and can't get through prime time with these stupid sitcoms and reality shows on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. I got to have my HISTORY CHANNEL!!!!
Does anyone else feel the same?

I am highly impressed with some of the reenactments they have done on a large number of shows, like the U.S. civil war and WW2 stuff they have done. Did you see the War of 1812 show? It seems to me to be the best way to get children interested in history. On a thing call Hollywood vs. History they reviewed the 2001 Pearl Harbor movie. one Veteran said"It's all Hollywood but thanks for making it." I assume the reason he said that was in hoping having seen that film, the kids wood head for the library or the internet to look up more information about that war.
I am also glad they done stuff about Iraq and Afghanistan. Battles in Faluga, Anbar and other places. Shows like Shootout and I saw something about snipers the other night describing an actual skirmish.
I bought the DVD's for Dogfights, Battle 360, and Patton 360. the use of gaming technology in these shows was great. along with interviews with a few of the men who were their.
Not all of the show have war, like the States a quick look at each state in the union, the Presidents from Washington to G.W. Bush.
the is now also the History International channel, and Although you do have to special order it through Comcast the Military History Channel, WITH NO COMMERCIAL INTERRUPTION thank God. It's bad enough I'm already paying for cabal service, and most of these channels interrupt the show with mind numbing commercial's
Because of the break down in public school teaching I am glad the history channel is there.

I also really like the history channel. I also like Nat Geo, discovery, tlc, history international, and the discovery science channel. There almost always seems to be something interesting on one of these channels all the time! I really can't stand American Idol, Dancing with the stars, and all those other Network shows. I would say that I watch these channels more than Network television!

Maybe not to that extent, but I do like the History Channel. I always seem to learn something each time I watch it.

I love the history channel too. My boys watch it with me sometimes. Especially if I sit in the living room saying stuff like "Wow, I never knew that" or "how interesting". That seems to get them in there to watch it with me. I think they learn a lot from watching some of the programs.
