How do you eat a fortune cookie?

I have made them myself, so I know the cookie is not too sweet with mostly flour, vanilla, and water! I have not heard this before, and I eat the cookie while reading the fortune!

I break it open...take out the fortune....read it then eat the cookies! They are good aren't they?

Thats really interesting, I've always been told that though you can technically eat them, they arent realy designed for eating, just a way to get your little fortune slip to you. So we always break them open, read the fortune, maybe nibble a corner and agree they dojn't taste of much and leave it at that!

I don't like fortune cookie so I don't eat them. I just break them open and read the fortune just for fun.

My friend told me that when I was little, so I've always eaten the cookie before reading the fortune. :]

Ha, ha - I was brought up the reverse - read the fortune, then eat the cookie :) I don't think there is any right way or wrong way.
