When I was growing up my family would sit and play the board game Monopoly for hours. Each of us had a favorite gamepiece that we chose to use for the game. For some odd reason I always wanted to have the little iron. Did you have a favorite gamepiece? Did you have a reason for choosing that piece?

The iron was my favorite piece, too. I always had to have the iron. If I couldn't have it, I'd go for the thimble. I don't know why, but those were my pieces. Maybe it was because I was destined to be a housewife. haha. funny, though... I hardly ever use the iron. I don't sew much, either. But, I'm constantly in the laundry room, that's for sure. lol

I think I usually chose the car and my sister would choose the horse. We played it all the time too. Although we changed the rules a little bit lol. We just split the properties between us so that we got an even amount. You still had to land on it to buy it, but we couldn't buy each others.

Fun question! I always chose the horse and rider. Why? Probably because I've had horses and been a rider since I was 5. Here's something fun to add to the discussion: there's a Michigan State Univ. web-site page that has the "Monopoly Game Piece Theory" On here they list all the favorite game pieces, and which game piece you prefer is telling of your own personality. Kind of a fun read...mine fits me to a T: I AM a music lover (play, sing, write lyrics), I am very nature oriented and environmentally concerned, and they hit the political part right too (color me confused with politics! lol)

HAHA...that site is hilarious. I read the writings for each monopoly piece. Sadly, the thoughts that are there for the iron do not describe me at all! I only watch sports when forced to by hubby! Some of the writings are hilarious!

We fought over the race car! My dad raced dirt track for several years while I was growing up so that was the COOL piece to get. My next favorite was the horse :) My cousin and I played Monopoly for hours on end!

I always wanted the horse or the car , we always fought over who got what , then we went by who won the last game and whoever did got to be what they wanted to be , that stopped the fighting .
And we could enjoy the game

I always wanted the dog. If I didn't use it and someone else did, I was always moving their pawn.

No it didn't work...I seemed to spend a lot of time in gaol...lol. I liked the horse when I was younger.
My younger daughter was a real whiz kid at the game and used to send us all bankrupt really quickly. We would all be determined to beat her but she had a real knack for the game. No fun...

I was always the dog...unless my little brother took it, then I was the top hat.
We had a dog and I loved dogs..so I wanted the dog. I think the top hat had class.

I always like the boot. Not sure why! But I just realized I haven't played Monopoly in about 10 years...
