You know it is bad outside when McDonald's closes its doors due to the weather!
Son just called to be picked up - they are closing the doors
husband was on his way to work and heard on the radio that they also closed. looks like it is going to be a cold night - with lots of people home!

(normally my answer would be when your snozzolas freeze in the nose - or when you step outside and get an instant ice cream headache... but mcd's closing in the afternoon is a bit more uncommon than that)

Hmmm. Let me see. I know it is bad outside when:
1. The busy 4 lane highway that I can see from my side window has only a smattering of vehicles traveling along its path.
2. The satellite tv signal is lost and I hear my teen son complianing violently from his bedroom.
3. My telephone starts ringing and on the other end of the line are students inquiring, "Are we going to have clinicals at the hospital tomorrow?"
4. And last, when I lose my DSL internet connection and I join my son in the violent complaining!

You know it is bad outside when trees are falling down.
There have been some heavy winds here along with rain and a few weeks ago it was so bad several trees in the area along with power lines and fences had fallen down. My husband and I lost 3 trees in our yard, and one was kind of hanging on the electrical wires that run down to our house. These trees have been around for quite a few years and have been through similar storms, but this storm was a dozy!

When sky doesn't work, when you go into town and nobody else has turned out cause the weather is so bad.
