There is a great site for those who would like to keyboard faster than using single finger or two.
This unique program was made known to me by my nephew who is Michigan University. He had download this program which is almost like a typewriter which appears on the screen. Highly user friendly with voice modulation which speaks to you whenever you make a mistake in typing. Exercises are easy to follow and my wife learnt typing in less than 30 days and now she types quite fast. Vist the site and

give me your feed back. Thanks and regards and also happy typing.

I think you can use linux and download this software. Such a popular software cannot be restricted to windows XP/Vista. It should be for others too.Just try it out or send a query to the admin of that site. Thanks for your participation. How do you do. For qutie sometime I am unable to see your posts.

This makes me wonder about other countries and how they type. I know the Chinese alphabet has many more characters than English, and that non-western countries have to adapt to the Western-style keyboard.
Is this helpful for people who do not use the Qwerty-style keyboard? Do you think that maybe they should make a typing program for people in other countries?

I think this wonderful stuff called keyboard can be used for all language sin the world. For example, my mother tongue is Kannada (of Karnataka State, India). There are 52 alphabets, but I use the english keyboard and the software is done so well as how we pronouce the kannada words, I have to type the english, so the language alphabets, sentences appear. Before taking a print out, I just to have to correct for some grammer mistakes.
I am sure you should be having such software which can be adopted to english typewriter.
Regards.

I have been reading several of your responses to my discussion topics. It appears from the face value of it that you are giving sarcastic answers. for example, just to increase your rating, you are answering this topic. If you are not interested in knowing about typing, where is the need for answering this topic!

At first, I want to tell you that I still rate you positive. But I am so hurtful by your comments. I am sad to see it before I go to sleep. I regarded you as one of my friends and I respect you because you have so many posts. I could never expect you said these words to me. Having a different opinion to you doesn't mean it's sarcastic. When you post your discussion, you shall expect different ideas. Yes, I am not interested in improving my typing speed, what's wrong with that? Shall I tell a lie to you that I like to improve it as it means nothing to me? Can you know how fast I type for these years? Do you ever think whether I don't need it? So is it OK for me to tell you the truth? Alright, I am not going to offend you. I would like to tell you one thing, I am not interested in fighting. If you think all of my responses are sarcastic, that's fine. I will shut up. Don't worry about it.

Oh! My Goodness.. What is this? I have a very reputation you friends, and i hold you people in high esteem.
Friends, i see some harsh and highly modulated words estranged between these two responses.. and that which is will purportedly dissolve the high spirits and good strengths the mylot is marching on..
So.. my request to both of my friends is to stay cool.. and to remain as freinds in times to come.
Cheers to both of my friends.

Hello dear ssh. Thank you very much for the information about typing speed online. I am so happy that your wife is typing very fast with the help of the software. It is good to know that. I have to say that I have learnt to type much faster than I used to, when I had to look at the keyboard each time I typed a word. I learnt to type fast with the help of mylot every day. I found it so amazing to be able to type without having to look at the keyboard any more now. I am enjoying a faster typing speed and I am very glad for my own progress as well. Thanks again and happy posting, my dear friend.

I am glad you have a good speed in typing. The suggestion what I have made is for those who use one or two fingers and search for letter in the key board. For them this is of great use, because they learn to typing systematically with speed. Thanks for your kind response. With regards.

In fact, many mylotians were complaining that they are taking longer time to fulfil the responses and I did not feel so. Because once the answers are in the mind, typing takes only seconds. It is because for the last 30 years I have been typing, having learnt the correct and systematic typing from an institute. Many youngsters who have become computer specialists too, struggle to use keyboard (probably because they need to use only a few keys), but then it is very essential to save time by keboarding fast. It is always there that you need some time to edit it, correct the mistakes etc.

This tutorial in typing was taught to my wife who picked up the speed typing in a fortnight or so.
I thought I shall tell the mylotians, so that they can save time and energy by picking up this skill.

Type writing is an art that can be learnt manually. But as far as typing is concerned the speed can be increased in a short period of time only by learning with the help of a type writing machine that displays a hard copy of the text that is been typed. This makes the learner to overcome the errors in the text while he repeats the lessons.I welcome the latest improvement in technologies in which a software is been used now for learning type writing or to improve the speed of typing. Correcting the errors that is in a printed format is more efficient than viewing the errors in a tft monitor.

I was a typesetter in an international firm and have been in typing for the past 30 years and I have used the old underwood typewriter, swiss make Hermes manual and Hermes's electronic typewriter, later comptuer keyboard. Typing errors can be checked on screen with the help of dictionary and grammer facility. In manual typewriter, these things was not possible and in those days we used the correction tape to erase the mistake part and retype it.
Much water has flown since then and today typesetting has become much easier. I had seen a special typewriter which was used to type mathematics. Now in computer, with a special maths programme one can type equations with greek characters with ease. Thanks to technological development.
THanks for your informative response.
