After reading up on different religions, I found there are 4 basic types which can be categorised into just 2: monotheistic and polytheistic.
The four basic groups are:
1.Christian/Muslim (ie. those with one God who beleive that Jesus is God or the son of God
2. Judaism (Belief in one God but without the belief that Jesus was important)
3. Paganism (Wicca, Celtic, etc. Beliefs in nature/spirits, etc.)
4. Polytheist such as Hindu (the belief in a set of Gods)
The reason for all the different branches (eg. Christianity into Catholicism, Presbytarianism, Wesleyan, Evangelical, etc.) is that every story gets changed along the way. Different parts or versions are taught and eventually, slight differences become larger and sometimes there seems to be no difference at all, simply a matter of who has told the best story.
Religions change gradually but some stick with what they believ to be original and others, such as Mormons, believe in more recent stories and base their religion with the extra information included.
I hope that's helped you a bit!

Yes it is true that we have one creator, but all human beings are not alike - one person is different from other in many aspects it may be due to social or geographical or genetical or psychological effects etc..so the human perceptions are different dramatically. Thus there is a difference everywhere.Actually there is no absolute solution for it!
