Since it is valentines day in North America, I wanted to ask, how did you meet that special someone in your life, and was it love at first sight.
I met my boyfriend of 8 years over the internet, we agreed to meet at Concordia University for the first time and then we went out for dinner.
I had did not really care for him that evening because I did not find his behaviour appropriate, he came on too strong, but I gave him another chance to redeem himself and the rest is history, we are in love and have been that way for 8 years.
How did you meet your special someone what happened on that meeting and was it love at first sight?

I had known my wifes father before I met her. She lived a block away and also a few houses from my ex girlfriend. I always visited her dad each day on my way to school as he sat out back at the picnic table. I never met nor knew he had a daughter at this time. The ex GF was getting married in a few months. I kept calling her trying to get her to go out one last time and she kept refusing me. Then one time I called her asking again for a last date she said, Bob I've got someone that wants to talk to you. It was Debbie my future wife. We talked for an hour on the exs phone then all night long on Debbies home phone. We've been together ever since that day 36 plus years ago. We both still talk with the ex GF and her hubby and kids also to this day. She is a great friend of ours actually.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

sounds so much like how I met my husband, I went out with a friend to meet her boyfriend, her boyfriend never showed up but this man did, my friend knew him and introduced us and he became my husband and father of my son. Only we did divorce though,
I did know that night that I was going to marry him.

I met my fiancee at the local pub. I had gone there with my sister and brother to play some pool before heading home to throw my brother a b-day party. As I was waiting my turn I saw him sitting in the corner looking kind of sad, so I asked him why he looked so down. We talked for a few mins and then I went back to my game. My sister suggested that I invite him to the party since we needed more guys anyway.. so I did. He said no, I said ok and was about to leave. As I got to the door he said he'd come I gave him the address and we've been together ever since. That was two yrs ago.

Just like you, I met my boyfriend of 3 years over the internet. We were in the same chatroom at mIRC, chatted for a while then exchanged numbers. He sent a text message right after but I ignored him since I find him too proud and confident. He kept on sending text messages and then I found myself enjoying our conversations. I decided to meet him after a year. Now we're on out third year and still very much in love.

Oh my God, this one brough me back, I was out one night going out dancing sipping a few. Well next thing I know I am waking up in my own bed, then I just felt that omg there is someone behind me, we both awoke at the same time. She said where am I, said you're at my place, I asked who are you, we introduced ourselves on one another. She moved in that very nite to my home. We would tease back and forth and say I saw you across the crowded dance floor you stuff like that. We ended up staying together for 4 !/2 years.

Well it sounds like im following your footsteps. I met my love on the internet New Years Eve 2005. I found her cool and interesting and I loved her smile on every pic and on web cam. We soon became friends, but my whole bubble burst when she got a boyfriend afte 6 months of us being friends. However we remained friends even though jelousy was boiling in me as I never thought I could have over a person I had never met. After a couple of months something magical happened, she had feelings for me, and she dumped her boyfriend. I saw my chance and I made a move, told her how I feel and I was shocked to find out she had so much feelings for me too. And well the rest is a ongoing fairytale. She does live in another country which makes meeting difficult, but on February 11th we had been together 1 year and we met 3 times within that year. So now im just looking forward to the next time and the next chapter of my perfect fairytale.

Like you I to met my boyfriend of almost 7 years over the internet, in a Yahoo chatroom, at first in the chatrrom he came off as arrogant but we decided to take the chance and meet in person. We have been living together about 6 years now and at the age of 40 I now have a beautiful 6 month old daughter, and like you said the rest is history.

I also met my hubby on the net..at first, i didn't want to chat with him, cuz i had just had a bad internet meeting experience a few months before, but after an hour, he was still online and asking if we could chat, so i decided to give him a chance. We chatted the whole night until 5 am, then the next day we spoke on the phone the whole night again until 5 am and agreed to meet for coffee that day around 3pm. I brought a friend along, we met, hung out all night, ended up having supper at my friend's house, and by 2am, we were officially a couple!! We've been together 5 years and a half and married for 2 yrs 3 months and just had a beautiful baby boy!!

I met my current special through a country singles newspaper. He was very enthusisatic about meeting me, drove six hours to do it. I had to ask myself if I could handle his exuberance, and the cat who was scared of everyone loved him. I decided that I really missed him when he was gone, and that anyone that cat trusted must be really special. We have been married ten years next month.

He was my son's first hockey coach, my son was 4 1/2, he was a single Dad of 2. I was married to someone else at the time. My ex and I separated when my son was 7, and we started hanging out about a year later. Between the 2 of us, we had 3 boys in hockey and we started out as friends, to help each other out. We have been together since then, my son just turned 22 and we got married in September.

I met my beloved in January of 1985 so 23 years ago now... WOW...
it was at a hospital he worked at and I volunteered at - at the time he was working scrubs (sanitizing surgical equipment) and I thought he was cute and funny - I used to pretend I could not do something and would go back there for his help. he told a mutual friend that I reminded him of someone and she set it up that we come to her home for a meal and movies... the rest is history, as you say.

I met my wife in college. She lived quite near me, but we were casual friends for a little while before our relationship warmed up and we found love in each other. Sometimes, we meet along the way to and from college, and had opportunities to interact and develop this friendship. After college, we started writing letters to each other when I was drafted into the Navy before I went into university. This carried for a few years until we became really serious, and this led to marriage. She was my first love, and I was also her first love. We have been married 22 years now.

That's great. Hope your marriage lasts a lifetime, and you will keep that fire glowing year after year. Let me share one more thing: the letters she wrote to me, which must have been like 30 years ago...I still have them. They were so sentimental to me, I wouldn't shred them away.

Every single people has their own story how did they meet their loves one. I'm glad to share how did i meet my hub. even his is not the first sight i had but i believed that God send him to me. Actually, my hub was my school mate during secondary school but at that time i didn't really care about him. After five years we meet again and begin to know each other. we are in love for 8 years and then married. then now we have one fruit of love, our baby boy.

I was stationed in Incirlik AFB Turkey but had heard about my husband in Florida. Go figure. Anyway I was going out with his room mate and we just weren't connecting. He was alright but I didn't see him as someone that I wanted to go out on a regular basis. We happened to be in the parking lot of the BX exchange and this car came pulling up. Mike introduced me to my husband and when he said his name I made the comment to him that I had heard about him in Florida. It was a couple of weeks and he called me at the barracks and asked me if I wanted to come out and have a drink with him and I said yes. From that point on we started going together and it progressed to us living together and than we got married. I always knew in my heart that he was the man for me. Now it is 35 years later this past August 2007 and he still is and always will be my best friend and the man that has captured my heart. I love him very much. He is my best friend as well as my husband.

I'm happy for you. My special someone and I used to be officemates. When I first saw her I noticed right away that she's very good looking, though I couldn't make any moves back then because I was already involved with someone else. It's only now that I am pursuing her.

I met my husband while we were living in the same apartment complex (duplex style). His apartment was right across the way from mine, but we didn't actually meet until about 6 months after I first saw him. We did check each other out LOL (though I wasn't sure if he was checking me out until some time later) and I eventually spoke out to him from my apartment window thanks to a friend of mine being there gave me courage enough to do so. LOL He came up to my door so we could talk and the rest is history! LOL
That was 16 years ago. :)
I don't know if it was love at first sight, but it was definitely lust at first sight! :D LOL
