When was the first time you learned about the magical world of computers? I learned what a computer was when I was 14 years old. I took a summer school course on the IBM Personal Computer at a place called Bellerman Prep. The year was 1982, back in the relative days of the dinosaurs. We thought Pac Man was Hot Stuff. * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_PC

I think that was also the same age I was first properly introduced in a computer, it was also an IBM but I don't know what it was really called.. I was in high school that time, we have handouts to learn how to open and operate the computer. But unfortunately, I hadn't had another opportunity after that. But when we got our own PC here in the house, I did my best to self-educate and learn the basic operations and it's components..

What kind of PC did you get installed in the house? Was it the kind that had a CD Rom or was it older?

I think my first exposure was to the aged NEC computer my dad bought. It cost an arm and a leg at that time because computers were so new to us. I wrecked it though. But I learned a lot of stuff about computers. I was only 9 by then.

I hope your father was too mad! * I thought that $900 was a lot to pay for a computer in 1997. That's what I spent for my first machine from Walmart. I take it your initiation machine was more expensive?
