classical music is tend to be "questionable feeling", because you do not know what the story about in those pieces... All we know only melodies and its title with almost in latin, french, or italian.
Modernized or not, classical music is remain the same, no lyrics, only melodies... What do you think about that? can you enjoy the song without words?

Hi manya! Sometimes it is you who is encourage to create the story in classical music. =) the rhythm and melodies are just right there to guide your thoughts and feelings. Classical music makes you think and wonder about things and stuff especially if kinda melodramatic. Modern music tends to supply its listener everthing, it gives you exactly what it is, when its a broken heart song - it tells you exactly that it is a broken heart song.

Yep, I do listen to them. Sometimes I also hum along the melody, like I can hear the sound coming from me dancing along the winds. I also play classical and instrumental music in my guitar, that sometimes I just play and let my guitar do the singing.
A person whispering is another good example of listening to music without lyrics or words, as I also remember the late great Levy Celerio making good music with just a piece of leaf..

Nope, Levy Celerio is one of the greatest Filipino artists we ever had. He's a composer, musician and he's also known for his other talent which is also his trademark. He can play music by simply using a piece of leaf, placed in his mouth and works like a flute.
I think there are also some videos of him recorded on you tube, I'm not sure but you can also give that site a try!;)

i don't listen to much classical songs because i think they are so serious. but there are times when i catch myself enjoying listening to it. i think instrumentals, classical and other music without lyrics can still convey feelings because of the melody and the rhythm. just take for example the background music we hear when we are watching a tv show or a movie. those BGM makes us feel and understand the scenes more. ^__^

Yes, its like you watch the action movies, without background music that really speed the nerve, you wont feel the "challenges" happen. Its also like in horror movies, the background music is that "grrrrrr... and mysterious". Just listen to its music, and you can feel "goosebumps". hehe

I tend to be a person who's ruled by my emotions. Music, whether with words or not, has always spoken to that aspect of my personality. For me, it is possible to enjoy a song without words if it invokes feeling. Certain classical composers can "inspire" me to feel a wide range or emotions, even within the same composition.
When I'm feeling a bit high strung (which happens often! LOL!) I'll put on one of my favorite CDs, which is, believe it or not, a CD I bought at Walmart called Celtic Serenity. Most of the songs are instrumental and help me relax quickly.

I enjoy music without lyrics. It makes a nice break from all those other songs that do have lyrics, and I think it's nice when music artists add in a song that contains no/little singing, just to add some variation.

Thanks for reply. I think its nice when music is only instrumental only. Do you like ost titanic, my heart will go on? Its nice sung by Celine dion and beautiful also for instrumental music....

I like listening to instrumental and clasical songs when I'm going to sleep, or while I'm doing work or something. :]

Hi,
I can enjoy a song without words, but not as well as one with words. To me, words make the song, make it or break it. There are so many different interpretations of lyrics from person to person. I usually also like a song because of its lyrics and the tone to the singer's voice.
How do you feel about this?
I do not care for opera, because that is just not my style of something I like to listen to, and I can't understand what they are singing. Yes, I can get the "feeling" of how I am supposed to feel, but don't like to try to that hard when I'm being entertained. :)
