As a parent of a 14 year old girl, I was recently informed by a Doctor that in the state of Virginia the age in which young girls can obtain birth control without a parents consent is 14. Parents are responsible for their children until the age of 18. Then why is it that Teenagers have the freedom to do as they please when it comes to these issues? This Doctor also forgot to inform me my daughter had a Urinary tract infection while I was at the appointment with her. Is it actualy a freedom to be held responsible for our kids actions, when they have the freedom by law to disobey the rules a parent sets?
