Did anyone else see the article posted on yahoo news over the weekend regarding WoW?
It was an article stating that WoW is becoming a big cause of younger marriages ending in divorce. I can see this for sure, especially if you have a big gamer husband and you hate the stuff.
How do you all cope with having husbands/boyfriends and wives/girlfrineds, and making sure everyone is happy?

My wife and I have been gaming for many years. We learned after several years that you have to make time for "family time." Gaming is fun, and we both enjoy it...but if you don't take time out to do things with your spouse or children, you will grow apart and hard feelings will form.
I have friends that their spouse does not enjoy gaming. Over the years they have had to make concessions. Such as ... not logging on until after dinner and the kids have went to bed, or only playing on certain nights of the week.
As with anything, you need to pay attention to the status of your relationships. A game is fun, but not worth losing a spouse over.

Great response :)
Unfortunitely most people involved in WoW lost track of time, lose track of friends/family and don't even realize.
Both my boyfriend and I play wow, and I can see how it totally controls your life.
Guilds out there that you want to be involved with because they're doing things you want to do...but REQUIRE you to be on 5-6 nights a week.
It can very easily get out of hand, and its scary. Glad to see your wife and yoursefl recognize what needs to be done to enjoy the games and also enjoy life!

I've seen that article and PLENTY more on MMORPG break-ups and gaming addiction in general. Some people may well be addicted, but I've noticed some people in relationships that don't even want their partner to relax or have fun (at least in this matter) due to perceived competition. While gamers should have some limits and should consider their partner, there is nothing wrong with enjoying the game when you can.

I don't think it is just WoW causing the problems there are quite a few popular MMORPGs out there that are really popular. My husband is a HUGE gamer and I use to be (mainly b/c I can find a game to play). This does cause problems. Right now he is into Guild Wars (which I don't like) and he lives in that darn game when he gets off of work. He does make time for family stuff but if he has nothing to do, he is in GW. It does bother me, but can I blame him - not really.

WOW lol, this sounds pretty bad. I play wow and I love it. I dont think I would play it for all my life though like if I meet someone and it starts getting good then maybe we get married I will stop playing for that reason. I have heard of lots of people who cant stop playing the game and they are 40 years old. I dont know how this can happen but it does.
