Mac Book Air

Tempted though I am by its "thinness" I can't but help feeling that the Macbook Pro, or even the good old Macbook remain much better buys. No optical disk, only 1 USB port are just two reasons not to buy. I susally wait for 6 moths or so before I buy any Apple products (except software) and I think that we will see some changes in the Air before long.

macbook air??? not as of yet! that thing may be small, but does not sport features worth the price. you'll get a much better laptop at price less than that. but if apple comes out with a better and cheaper model variant, it will surely be on my shopping list.

I haven't bought one yet, but I am praying for it. I've seen and played with one though, and I am thoroughly convinced that one of those babies SHOULD BE MIIIIIIINE!!! heheheeheh. I seriously rarely use the slot drive on my Macbook myself, so the lack of an optical drive won't be a problem for me. :) I am just planning to get the external drive, and I'm sure "lugging it around" won't be such a hassle, because according to the tech specs, it is only 0.71 lbs or 320 grams. It doesn't need an external power source, so it really shouldn't add much weight to your bag. I think both are worthy investments, and though I am thinking of getting the superdrive, I am thinking of just keeping it at home. as long as I have a USB flash drive, I think I'll be fine. but if it's a necessary thing, I may well get me a padded laptop bag so I can keep both MBA and the drive secure. I don't think they'll be that heavy though. :) I am excited to get one!

i love the macbook air! it's so thin and sleek. but what really turns me off is that it doesnt have any optical drive! that's one of the most important features that a notebook should have. .
