I have always been (and probably always will be) faithful to Sony's Playstation. PS3 rocks and new that Blu-Ray became the new standard, I think more machines will be sold and even better games will be made. But I still want to buy a Wii, as it seems heaps of fun to stand in front of your telly waving your arms like a madman? Should I stick to one or buy the Wii as well?

Uh...? What is wrong with owning 2 consoles?? I seriously don't know as I can't think of anything that is absolutely wrong with it. Unless your buying a 2nd console out of the money that should be use to pay your sick relatives medical expenses. LOL

Lol, I own a Gamecube, PSOne AND a Sega Genesis. We also have an offbrand Nintendo (that plays NES and Super NES games), Sega Gamegear, Gameboy (original, Color, SP and Advance), PS2 and a real Super NES.
I'd say, they all make enough money that I don't really thing it matters if you get more than one brand of consoles. I say, as long as it's fun, go ahead! =)

Go with the games. Seriously.
Although I've always had both Sony and Nintendo systems, I don't have any of the new gen yet. Why?
No games out to make the pruchase price worth it. The games aren't out that much.
If you feel there are enough games to justify the price, and you can afford it, go for it. If not, don't.

This is a really good discussion because video games are really important in peoples lives, because they are an excellent source of entertainment especially if you are bored,or if you have nothing to do,and if it is a cold day,or if it is snowing outside or if it is a rainy day,or if it a wet day because it was recently raining or if it just one of those days you do not want to leave the house then video games are a perfect thing to help you pass the time, and video games are also a good way to relieve stress and I think there is nothing better to help get out frustration then slaughtering aliens that are trying to take over the Earth like in the games Halo and Halo 3,and I am sure there are a lot of people out there who like video games and they have one console gaming system or maybe a couple of console gaming systems that they prefer to play games on,and there are probably people out there who either do not have a favorite console gaming system because they do not like spending much time playing video games,or they are usually very busy and do not have time to play video games,or because they have things they prefer to do in their spare time other than playing video games, and then I am sure there are people who hate video games and think that they are nothing but trouble, and all they do is cause kids to be violent and hateful to others which I think is a load of crap, especially those type of people have probably never played a video game in their life, and it is not right to judge something without actually trying it,and I have always been a big gamer and a big fan of video games and I always will be,and video games have always been one of my favorite pastimes and when I was a kid whenever I was not sleeping, watching television,or on the computer I was playing a video game and I would sometimes and sit for hours at a time playing one specific video game until I had beaten it,and even now that I am with my fiance I still love video games and my fiance likes video games as well,I do not think that is is wrong to own more than one gaming console because it is not like you would be cheating on another gaming console and right now me and my fiance have a Nintendo 64,a Nintendo Game Cube,a X-box,and a Halo 3 Edition X-box 360 which we are both Nintendo people, and also Microsoft people but we do not care for Sony, and the Halo 3 Edition X-box 360 is my favorite because it is something I always wanted,I like the X-box 360 because it has good graphics and it has the ability to turn the system on or off with the controller and it has a good game selection like the game Halo 3 which is only on the X-box 360 and that is part of the reason I wanted it,and the other reason is because I love the Splinter Cell series and Splinter Cell Conviction is coming out only on the X-box 360,PC,and DS I think and I want to get it to finish my collection of Splinter Cell games, another thing I like is that if you get a hard drive you can play X-box games on X-box 360 which is really awesome so you can buy X-box games and save a little money instead of having to buy 360 games which are sometimes expensive, and then my brother has a PlayStation 3 and he also owns a PlayStation 2,a Nintendo Game Cube,a Nintendo 64,and Nintendo DS,and PSP and he is also very loyal to Sony but he also likes Nintendo but he does not care about Microsoft and then my fiance wants a Nintendo Wii my cousin has a Nintendo Wii and she likes it because it allows you to get more involved in the games and it allows you to get exercise at the same time which is awesome, and when me and my fiance visited my cousin we got to play it and it was a lot of fun and it has a good selection of games and I hear you can play Game Cube games on the Wii which is neat, and Nintendo has some pretty cool sort of role playing games called the Legend of Zelda which are neat, since you can get them on Game Cube and a few of them are on the Wii,and I can understand why you would want a Wii,and me and my fiance are planning on getting a Wii sometime in the future,so that way we will both have the systems that we want.

We had Sony PS1 and PS2, but we're also planning of buying Nintendo's Wii. Like you, I think acquiring that console would be a different experience and provides better definition of being "interactive."
You just follow what your heart desires, I can't find any reason why you shouldn't buy it knowing that you can afford it..

If I were you, it wouldn't really matter if the console was made by Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft or from another highly techonological planet from the distant future, as long as I enjoy the games that I play. If it runs in one console, why not have that console? If another game I fancy runs with another type of console, get that console as well. It really depends on the satisfying element in gaming. I don't even think that, "Hmmm, Street Fighter really looks good on a PlayStation console compared to the X-Box.."
Sony wouldn't really feel offended if you suddenly purchased yourself a Nintendo Wii for the games you could play with it.

I own a wii and an xbox 360. They both have different game available for them so to me it was worth shelling out the cash for 2 consoles.

No its not wrong to have 2 consoles (or more). Live a little!
I say if you want it and some of the games on it, then go for it. Good luck getting a Wii though, I hear there are still shortages of the thing.

It certainly isn't wrong. Your loyalty to the Sony brand is noble. I don't think your support of Sony requires you to deprive yourself of other gaming products. If you can afford it and desire to do so, then buy the equipment necessary for your gaming enjoyment. Many gamers own multiple consoles of all generations and like them for different reasons. The Wii is a unique gaming experience. Finding a Wii for purchase is another matter in and of itself.
