Please help so i dont go nuts, I have 3 weeks and 4 days left before the baby is born!!

I like classic names for children- girls especially. They would be unique now a days because most people steer away from classic names. I like Daisy, Alexandra, Sarah..names like this. Everyone seems to be naming their kids, Emma, Maddie, Taylor, blah blah blah..We are going to have too many of these in the world.

I agree with you, names like anything else go in fashions. The Daisy, Alexandra and sarah names are just out of fashion, Amy Alice and Jemima went through this too, we had just too many of them in the world. When the Emmas have gone, people will start using them again

I like Alice too. So cute...Yep names do go in and out of fashion but it seems like the "fashionable" names are sticking around longer and longer instead of changing year by year..:(

I recommend trying to do a search online, as you know what you would like and dislike. Try using whattoexpect.com ... They have a variety of names on there. Some of them even have the meanings of the names. It's nice to see what they say about the name you choose, whether it's strength or peaceful, and other meanings.
I found one I even liked and I've never used one of those to find a name for any of my children. Wish you lots of luck on finding one that you like. I found one on there that I liked for a girls name ... it was Alana.
I always chose names that I found unusual or not used much these days. My youngest 2 children's names are Eden and Kayeson. You can always take names you like and combine them with other names that you like as well.

thanks miller, i have spent most of the morning on those sites, trying to find something that sticks out at me like the name of my first daughter did. lol no such luck this time!! My first borns name is Cadence. Sort of original, but not too weird. I like your names, they are not seen everywhere.

I really like Cadence. I've never heard that name before. Alana is one of the names I picked out for a girl, but hubbie vetoed it. I like Bella a lot, and hubbie likes it EXCEPT our aunt just named her puppy that! Do you think we could still name our girl that? I REALLY love it, and I can't BELIEVE she just named her dog OUR baby name! LOL.

How about "Sona"? It means gold in Hindi. If you are a Harry Potter fan there are so many unique names in the series from which you can choose.
But a word of caution: Children often become victims of bullying because of their wierd names. So it would be better if you choose a simple name. You wouldn't want your daughter shouting at you for giving a weird name, will you?

My sons named after my dad and my husband's dad who passed away when my husband was just seventeen
As for a girls name I had purchased a baby book before my son was born and was looking for a girls name..I chose Olivia and that would still be my daughters name should I get pregnant again and have a girl..Olivia Jean....Jean is my middle name and it is after my Grandmother but my husbands Nana was also Jean so it would have double meaning for us :)
I really like to include family names if possible.
My niece is Ruby which is a really nice simple pretty name and brings back the old again which I like :)
If all else fails my dear friend I know you will be able to pick a name when you see her....
I also like Joy, Miracle, Brianna....
What ever you choose will be beautiful and the perfect name for her :)
HUGS

I like the name Lorimai and the name Loreta. You could have Lomimai Springina or Loreta Summerlea. These are made up names so they are unique. I once taught a girl called Sarisse and she said her name Searsha. My sister had a baby girl and called her Aleah, that is quite unusual. She has a surname that begins with 'L' so she just added an 'A' to the name Leah. She called her second baby girl Sabrina and that is not an unusual name. She did consider the name Rainer. Good luck choosing names and I hope the the birth will go well.

I was shocked at the response amount too. Oh and I hope you looked at the links as they have some names too. Most of the ones you need are in this response, but there maybe something that comes to mind.

I love the names
Nevaeh Madison
and
Skyler Rain
for Girls.
And just in case someone's interested in my top 2 boys names, they are
Josiah Christian
and
Erikyde Daniel

Erikyde is pronounced
Era-kiad
It's kinda hard to explain how to say it, it's a name that I made up, someone that used to go to my church was named
Eric Hyde and I thought that everyone was saying his name was Erikyde so I thought oh that's a unique name, I'll take that to use in the future, I felt really dumb when I finally realized that his first name was Eric and his last name was Hyde, but I still liked the way Erikyde sounds and it still is unique.

If these were already suggested, forgive me. I wasn't able to read all the responses :)
Based on Jared & Tracey, I'd suggest Jacey. I love J names. I'm Jessica, my sisters are Jamie & Jodi and my daughter is Jimmie. :)
I also love:
Rory
Lorelie
Yep, I'm a Gilmore Girls fan!

I love boy names for girls. My daughter is Jimmie London (first & middle). I grew up thinking I'd name my daughter Emma Leigh but Emma and Emily become so popular and I didn't want my daughter to be Emma #5 in her class. :)
I like the name Jolie - have since French class - but I am not an Angelina Jolie fan so I skipped that name, too.
What is your name & dad's name (if applicable - no offense meant either way!) -- maybe we could come up with something knowing the 2 parent names.

I like to use some variation of family names. For instance my grandmother was Annamae..so if I have another daughter I would like to name her Hannah Mae.
Or just use part of the name like I did with my daughter, my mothers middle name is Elizabeth so I named my daughter Lily Elizabeth. This way the name stays in the family also. Kind of a way to pay tribute to your loved ones! Hope that helped! ;)

Sarah Daphne. I've always liked that name. I almost convinced my wife to name our daughter that, until she realized that the name is awfully close to Ceriodaphnia, a tiny organism that lives in healthy streams (I used to work in an aquatic toxicity testing laboratory).
But still, if the kid didn't know....

We were going to use this name but picked a different one so here you go. For a girl you could call her Sitara which means star light! I thought it was so beautiful and if it is to weird for her as a child you could always call her tara for short which is more common. Just thought I would throw that in.

Thank you for the advice, That does make sense.. they probably think WHAT Was this persons parents SMOKING lol. Although with it becoming more and more common now a days it may be more acceptable by the time our children reach the age of professtionalism ;)

p.s. according to my baby book, taking a normal name and spelling it differently puts a strain on there professional life when they are older. employeers supposedly don't like seeing on a resume jayson instead of jason or something like that. I guess they think "can this person spell?" I am not sure what the reason is but they did mention that people with unusual spellings of common names don't do as well later on in life. Who knows though!

Getting closer, Siss! :o)
My cousin's baby girl (well toddler now as 2 years) is Sienna, which I really like.
A friend who attended the concert last night- her name is Fran (Francis), and she said how she always wished as a child to be named Francesca.
And another person whose name is Mary, wished for Maria. :o)
They do have those name dictionaries. I have one around somewhere too, that just has an alphabet filled with different names, and descriptions of what the name is or where it came from. Maybe you could read one of those books, though there's be hundreds write at your face. :o)
Keep us posted.

Congrats on the baby. I apologize I didn't go through all the replies yet before sending this post... Baby names is something I love!
I personally love the name Olivia but more and more people are calling their daughters that now.
I don't know if this is your first child or your fifth :) but I always like to play with names. My name is Katie and my husband's is Dean. If we had a boy, we would call him Kaden Ross. (Ross is short for my grandfather's name Rosario)
We are both into history and love the story of Anastasia, in fact our wedding song was 'At the Beginning' from the Disney's version of Anastasia. So it's a no brainer that we would chose a variation of the name. And since I wanted to include my father's name and he wanted to include his mother's middle name so we came up with Anya-Raye Elizabeth.
I often have dreams that hubby and I adopt unwanted babies and a name that keeps coming back is Eden. I would love to use that name someday!
So I would strongly suggest you play with names and words that are meaningful in your lives. Yes I admit, it can drive you complete mad. Take a pen, a piece of paper on a clipboard, take a nice long bubble bath and just write a ton of names and variations... good luck!
