Who is your favored LESSER known character from any of the Star Trek series?
why?
Who is your least favored GREATER known character
why?
----
My favorite lesser known character is Kevin O'reily - he was an engineer in the episode "The Naked Time" responsible for shutting the engines down when he was inflicted by an alien presence in the ice - later on they had to use warping towards the sun inorder to recalibrate time - if he hadn't shut the engines down we would have missed out on this exciting first time travel experience. thanks kevin o reily
my least favorite greater known character would have to be capt. Janeway,... I did not like her performance as a captain she just did not come off captain like to me.

my runner up would have to be scott bakula on the enterprise series (can't remember character name).
i just don't think he was a good choice for a lead role.

I liked Barkley (TNG) but he annoyed me at the same time. Great actor, though!
Hmmm...oh oh, I can`t think of his name, but the young vulcan jr officer on Voyager. He was AWESOME. The best vulcan since Spock. And thinking of him reminds me that actually, Tuvok was my least favorite major character. He was the most emotional vulcan ever - but he was just continually annoyed. If his ears moved like a cats, they would have always been pointing backwards.

Same here - I though Barclay brightened up the show with his comedy. And that young vulcan is Vorik, who is an interesting fellow. Tuvok's normal countenance resembles annoyance, but as an emotionless Vulcan and distinguished at 120-180 years old, he is the peak of Vulcan intellect and wisdom (in logic of course).

Some favorite lesser characters
Each one has good showing and story behind them. And each has their own strengths and situations that do lend to the series
Captain Maximillian Forest (ENT: In a Mirror Darkly)
Quark (DS9, various)
General Martok (DS9, various)
Commodore Matt Decker (TOS: The Doomsday Machine)
Ensign Ro Laren (TNG, various)
Legit Dumar (DS9, various)
Some least favorite greater characters
Captain "Quantum" Archer (ENT)
Lt. Malcom Reed (ENT)
Barbie of Nine (VOY)
Wesley Crusher (TNG)
They aren't all that good character wise.

All Barbie of Nine really needed was a makover - maybe a make-down! Her outfit was ridiculous but I did enjoy her character`s growth.

Well, I really don't have a favorite LESSER character, but my least favorite MAJOR character was Captain Janeway. I never liked her attitude and I don't know why she ever made captain in the first place. I didn't see her as a very strong leader and I don't think I would have wanted to serve under her theoretically if Star Trek were real.
