This is a common cliche. What do you think about it? Do you believe that you learn something new everday? Or do you think this is an overstatement? I know that there are definitely days when I learn something new, but other days when I can't think of any new thing that I learned. Do you suppose that is because we actually do not learn something new EVERY day, or do you think that maybe somedays the lesson we learn is so small or so suttle that we just do not realize it right away?

Hi,
I hope yes, as everyday is a new day, new new situations we face, we may solve, new air, new light, new news so on goes this, everyday we learn new as our body and ourself get old and old. I hope at an average how much do one learn every day might be so big. Then I hope we have to learn more in coming days.

You needn't take the expression so literally, it can also be about a manner of being in the world. An attitude towards the world.

I think there is ample opportunity to learn something new everyday. We don't always take advantage of it. We are busy or we think it takes too much time to try something. Many people dont read these days. Look at how many people get their news from the likes of the "Daily Show" I like to sometimes watch the History Channel or the Travel Channel or even Jeopardy. I almost always learn something I did not know or remembered something I had forgotten. I think it is a wise person who seeks to learn something every day. And yes I think there are things we see and learn everyday that we dont realize we did not know before.

Perhaps this is true to some people. Others might think not all the time or not everyday. But the learning process takes place everytime or every hour, which is true for the young kids. For the adults, learning process take place at every opportunity or experience they encounter, from people they saw and associate with, from places they go, from failures/mistakes they have done, and so forth...

Yes, I agree with that. You certainly do learn from every experience, mistake or failure and things of that nature. Kids are definitely learning constantly.

Interesting way of looking at it, except no where in my post did I say anything about only learning one new thing. I asked if you agree or disagree that you learn something new everyday and your thoughts about it...I take it you agree.
