Why does Mylot have a make extra money category?

Hi.
I was wandering why Mylot has a make extra money category for us to start a new discussion in, but yet, when we start a discussion under it, chances are it will be deleted.
I have started a few over the past couple of weeks anone of them were spam and most of them got deleted right after starting it.
I know we cannot post referral links and we cannot ask for referrals and things like that but none of that was even mentioned.
I have seen other discussions just like the ones I started also and they are still alive and have not been deleted.
In all fairness, I sure would just like to know why they got deleted.
Anyone else dealing with this?

There is another interesting issue. There are Making Money and Make Extra Money categories. Why are they separate - I don't know...

Yes. I have alot of discussions from when I first started here at Mylot, but this was a new one that was completely different because it was new information about a site that just came out or opend up. I see what you mean also though.

i think the issue is about the members, who create different categories without checking out what is already existing what i do is to stick to what i already have

Very true. I haven't posted any direct links in my discussions at all but I do ask them to contact me for more information if they are interested. I'm not sure why my discussions get deleted though. It doesn't happen with all of them like it.

I think we are dealing with two different things here - the categories come from the members putting 'things' into their interests example I could create a category 'making whatch ma call its' under things I have done and it would create that - I'm sure there wouldn't be any other members with that same interest but who knows, some people just add anything so if I posted a discussion under that category some people who respond may also add that to their interest.
As for the discussions being deleted - I don't know, for the hundreth time I wish when a discussion is deleted admin would post or at least notify the person WHY it was deleted.

Yes. I know that much too, but my question is this:
Why do they make such a category for making money from home and most times we start a discussion for it, it gets deleted no more than starting it even though we do not post referral links in it?
I have seen other discussions similar to mine and they are not deleted.

Agree - let us know what we're doing wrong - I've just had one of mine deleted and I was very careful on how I worded the discussion, yet mine is now deleted and there are others where they just out and out say do this and make money (not those exact words but).

catagories or topics are not created by mylot, they are created by members
I'd guess that some catagories get checked more often because they are "forbidden" like the "making extra money" might contain links and stuff or "jokes" since jokes aren't allowed.

My main question is this though:
Why does Mylot have this category if every time we post a discussion in it, it gets deleted? I would do away with the topic altogether or not allow it to be added to our interests. My discussions have no links in it but most of them get deleted as soon as they are started.

No but I had the same question when I first joined. I dont understand why some posts gets deleted and others dont. There was even a guy who said referral links can be posted if related to the discussion. I might have to reread the terms of service cause I dont get it. Better yet, maybe I will ask Crash, LOL

Same here. I didn't post a referral link or anything in mine because I know we aren't supposed to but my discussions still get deleted right after starting them most of the time.

Someone else probably put a referral link in your post. Even when you beg people not to do that, they do it anyway. This discussion topic will never die until mylot makes their terms more clear or make the rules across the board. One referral link and all posts get deleted. Then people will stop doing that.

That what makes me confuse too, though so far have not encounter deletion of own discussion. But I have 2 responses which was deleted because the root discussion was being deleted.
If you have seen other is still working on, I mean not deleted when in fact it is just like your post then it would be unfair. I guess mylot should give us further explanation as to why they delete certain discussions if there exist unfairness. Or maybe, so their will be no complaints, they should delete interest about make extra money.

Yes. It is very confusing. I do not post referral links in mine or anything like that and I no more than send the discussion out and it is deleted but I see other ones just like mine and it never gets deleted. They should let us know what we have done. I agree.

Maybe it's a conspiracy! They might be setting us up so that the referral discussions can be easier found and deleted... that's what I think.
It is odd that they would have the category if we are unable to really utilize it = )
Your best bet is to post the link on your profile page rather than attempting to start a discussion that will likely be deleted anyway.

Yes. I have my blog on my profile page but I didn't post any links or my blog in my discussion I started and it still got deleted. Alot of people won't waste time looking at profiles or blog links. I do tell them to send me a private message for more information though.

Yes. I have wrote them a few times but no response yet. I hope they will let us know what we have done wrong in the near future so we don't go that again to get it deleted.

Right. That is what I am talking about also. It isn't fair, especially when we do not know what we have done wrong. We do not know what guideline we broke.

I have tried that and that is what I am talking about. I didn't post any referral links at all and it got deleted as soon as it posted. I see what you are saying also.

Yes. They sure do. Alot of times when I start a discussion in the category though, my discussion gets deleted and I have no clue what violation I made in it.

I don't know why yours got deleted sweetheart and I am sorry that they did. I remember last year it was explained that many discussion topics are set up by mylot members and that is why they are there - like the fact that they do not consider that jokes are inside of guidelines but there is a jokes section too! Quite confusing huh? xxx

Yes. It is very confusing. I hate to contact all of my friends to tell them things. I don't want to spam them. I make a discussion to tell them things that helped me and may help them but the discussion goes nowhere.

To me there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which one's get deleted. That is a good question why do they have a make extra money category if you have a 50/50 chance of your discussion being deleted! It would be nice to know what validates a valid discussion!

That is what I think also. I know we make our own interests when we join here but still, why delete a discussion when we haven't broke a rule?

well maybe its time for you to start a blog in this area and tell us just how we can get to read it and probably you have contravend some rules

I have tried to make discussions short and sweet also and asked for people to pm me for more details and those get deleted also. I have thought about contacting my close friends here but I do not want them to think bad of me for doing that.
Look below ... all the way down and look at the discussions still existing with the referral link plainly posted.
Doesn't make sense.

I have a blog and I forward people's attention to it, but I also ask them to contact me by a private message for more information also. No referral links or blog links are listed but it still gets deleted right after starting it.

you can use private message be short ,curt and straight to the point and give priority to those who are always regular in response amongst your friends, this takes the issue of spam out of it.or you make a post that talk about the opportunity shortly withoutr mentioning what it is and ask people to pm you for details .you will be surprised at the response

Hi stephcjh, I've been MIA for a while and I see that this issue is still an ongoing confusion around mylot.
It might be better if mylot will set a few rules on what topics or discussions we must post under "extra money" category. Just the name itself, people will conclude right away that they can post any money making ideas and opportunities that they like to share.
I can understand the feeling of having our discussions deleted. Based on what you said, you had strictly adhered to the policy of mylot and yet, it was still deleted. I, for one, would love to hear what mylot admin can say about this matter.
I have to admit that I'm straying away from that category since there is a greater chance of having the discussions as well as our responses deleted. Sorry to hear that your discussions was deleted though.

Hello. Thank you. I am trying to stay away from the category also but it is so tempting at times. If you scroll down this discussion, you will see someone still had their discussion going and it clearly displays their referral link. Doesn't make sense.

I haven't notices this yet. Now I will make sure to keep my eyes open for it. I also have to take a better look at what myLot says is appropriate for posting and what is not. It's been quite a while since I've looked at the terms of service or anything like that.

I have been wondering a lot about that too. But well, the 'make extra money' category is actually created by us.. not by mylot.
If only people can read TOS and not spam their referral links, then we will have less discussions deleted. It's understandable if they are new members. However, sometimes, despite being reminded before, they still do it. =/
There are so many discussions and so little moderators. They probably might have overlook. If you feel injustice, you should report those discussions that have broken TOS. Once reported, they will be deleted soon.

To be honest with you, most discussions I make under the "Make Extra Money" category rarely get deleted. Maybe it's the way you're approaching your discussion? How you word it? I mean, afterall. Mylot said they didn't check all the messages themselves but their system has a certain way of doing things. So, maybe a lot of your discussions come across as some sort of promotion or spam? I'm not entierly sure. Sorry I cant be of much help, but I thought I would give my two cents, :p

Very true but I try very hard to not make them seem that way at all. I will have to try other ways of promoting things. I appreciate your two cents and it does make sense but I have tried lots of ways and it doesn't go very far before it is eventually deleted.
Thanks though. I appreciate it.

i have noticed that because for some time when i get a notification of a posting by you in recent times and i was a little angry cos some of the topics are in my area of interest but once i open it they say its no longer existing.i think the best you can do is to send these postings to your friends here as private messages by so doing we can come out and comment on it what do you think?

That annoys me as well. I wonder what it is that we write that gets it deleted? I have posted quite a few discussions that were deleted. I got mad when they first got deleted because that takes away from my earnings. I guess we just have to deal with it since they write the checks. good luck

Yes. Same here. I try to stay away from the category anymore because of it but sometimes it is very tempting and I go there and post in hopes that it will not get deleted. I have seen so many discussions that have been around for a very long time that have a referral link posted in them and they are still not deleted. It does not make sense.
