What Kind Of Exercise Do You Do?

A couple years ago, my husband decided he wanted a tread mill. I went and purchased him a really nice one for his birthday. He hardly ever used it. This year, however, he is using it everyday before he goes to work.
Treadmills are convenient when you own one. When the weather is bad, you don't have to go outside to get your daily exercise.
Treadmills do have Physical Benefits. Exercising on a treadmill has wide-ranging benefits. As Gregory Florez, president of Chicago's First Fitness Inc., points out, "Walking or running on a treadmill - has great cardiovascular value for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system. It's a very efficient way to lose body fat, and, since it's a weight-bearing activity, it has musculoskeletal benefits as well." Because running can reduce stress, you actually feel calmer and more relaxed.
Personally, I would rather go outdoors and walk. I love to walk but that is not always an option when you live in a cold climate.
What do you do to get exercise for your health?
Do you go to the gym?
Do you own exercise equipment of some kind?

We have an Ab Lounger, but it broke, and we never fixed it. Its been in the office unused for over a year!
I hate to admit it, but I dont exercise. I walk up and down stairs a couple times a week, and that about the extent of my exercise. I know its horrible, and I know I need to get in the habit of exercise, but getting up the motivation is a whole other topic!

My husbands job is changing our health insurance and if we go to to a wellness fair and evaluation (they are having) we will cut our copay by $400. So we are going but I just cant believe all the silly things they want us to do.

I go outdoors to walk everyday but there are days when the weather is bad so I don't go out and I don't own an exercise equipment at all.

Before and wver since I went to physical therapy and occupational therapy O have done all of the streaching and leg lifting exersices they have taught me. So my muscles don't get any weaker from having m.s. . I have a ez rider I use it also. I wish I could afford a stainary bike. Since they had me use it when I went to thearapy. I think it is very important that we exersize for health and to feel better.

I have a few workout dvds I use on a regular basis. I do pilates 3 times a week and I also have a Turbo Jam dvd that has a great cario workout.
When it's nice out I try to go for walks either around my neighborhood or at the park. Right now my cardio health is pretty bad but I'm trying to work my way to being able to run again without getting winded.

Hi there! We also have a threadmill but I don't usually use it. It is a manual one and it puts too much pressure on my legs. Whenever I use it, my legs ache until the day after.
What I do is walk. As of now, walking is what I do for exercise and dancing. My son is having his graduation from nursery on March 16 and they are going to perform a dance that we are practicing together at home. It is a great form of exercise and it's fun too.

Oh Wow! Dancing with your son sounds like so much fun. I love to dance with my kids when they were home. They are grown now and married. Enjoy the dancing

I don't go to the gym but I do have to walk EVERYWHERE. I don't have a car, I don't like paying for public transportation and I live in a business district so the shopping area is near by. So I lose a lot of weight by just simply walking.

I had a treadmill, belonged to 24 hour fitness, the YMCA, and had a rower, a crosscountry skier, and a machine that was much easier on my knees, it glided in a way! I like the glider the best as it was easier for people with arthritis. Now I have a pedometer but when it rains, I do not walk as far, only going out if I have to. There are exercises that can be done with a yoga ball that work great!

I go to the gym but i do not stick to the same rountine everytime because I would get bored. I usually warm up on the exercise bike for 10 minutes and then do some stretches on the mats. I then use the dumbells and weight machines. I concentrate on toning my pectoral muscles and triceps and biceps. Next I do about 20-30 minutes of cardio using the bike, cross trainer or treadmill . Sometimes I will use only one machine (usually bike) and other timkes I will use a mixture. I then do some ab work using the swiss ball and some pilates and yoga moves. I then use bike again to cool down and finish off with soem stretches.
I also like to walk a lot and have some dance DVDs which I like to do.

I exercise with dvd's. I have a few of them that are good. I always wanted a treadmill to be able to do running on, but on a limited income, right now that 's not possible. I love any kind of cardio exercise.

I don't own any exercise equipment, but I do try to exercise. Right now I'm into pilates, I try to do a 30 minute workout at least 4 days a week. During the summer I try to get out and ride bikes with my kids. I don't do very much walking because of problems I've had with my feet since birth.

I really enjoy walking and was hard out exercising (mostly walking and jogging) before Winter came along. It helped me to lose 24 pounds. I do have a gym membership but have not used it as much as I should - no excuse really just laziness.
I can't wait for Spring to come along as I want to get back into walking again. My husband has started up walking too because he has Type 2 Diabetes and has never done any execise in his life except the occasional golf game.
