It would really be nice if my friends (and others who may feel guided) would say a prayer for this family. Doc is a member of the church CJ and I have just started going to. He and his wife were blessed with a baby girl last month. But tragedy hit their family soon after.
Last Saturday on the 23rd, Doc's great-uncle (who was in New Orleans helping with Katrina Relief) didn't show up for breakfast with the other helpers and when they went to check on him he had passed away in his sleep. I don't know how old he was.
They called his eldest and only son Mike, (he has 3 sisters) who lives in Minneapolis to tell him; he had planned on attending the funeral today. So, Mike sent an email to family and friends about his father passing and when the funeral was going to be...
Two days later on Monday, the 26th, while out for his morning jog, Mike was hit and killed by a car.
So the family went from great joy at having a new addition to the family to great sorrow in less than a week.
Many will wonder why a loving God could have this happen and I, for one have that same question. But we must realize that God has a reason for everything that happens to us in our lives and even though we may never know what that reason is it is assuredly for His Glory and to help bring others closer to each other.
Please keep this grief-stricken family in your thoughts and prayers this week.
Doc Johnson (with the new baby)
Dellis Schrock (the great-uncle)
Mike Schrock (the son and cousin)
Thank you all so much and God Bless you all.

Dear Heavenly Father - we come to you today thanking you for all the glorious gifts you have given us, we are so blessed to have a loving Father in you. We also ask that you will wrap your arms around this family as they go through this difficult time. We know you have a reason for all things but so very much for one family to deal with please comfort and protect the other members of the family and their friends and show them the love that only you can give to everyone. We ask these things in Jesus's name, amen.

Your very welcome, I haven't done that in some time, shared prayer with others, guess some real good came out of my time alone with God the other day. I will continue to keep them in my prayers also.
