Although have learned English more than 10+ years, even longer than this, I still feel frustrate all the time. Can't communicate with native English speaker , can't speak English quickly and long, can't feel comfortable in English environment. You know, I has been Canada for one and half year.
I'm completely disappoint with my Chinese education. More than 10+ years english education is just like a garbage. I like a idiot in here. Does anybody know a good way to improve English quickly? I mean quickly is two years. I hope I can feel better and using English freely in two years.
Any suggestion is welcomed. and I am a computer engineer , if you have any problem with IT , you will be glad to know me.

as a chinese student who has learned english over 10 years, whenas still not confident of myself, i understand you absolutely.
as we know, language environment takes important role in learning english. that's why most us chinese students feel tough to improve and have a breakthrough.
luckily, you never have to worry aabout it,since you have been Canada, such a favourable country for english learners. you never know how i admire you.
though i have been here for just ten days, i feel great improvement in my written english through communicating with others. i watch and imitate there phrasing, then use it in my post after innovation more or less. to take a lot practice proved to be helpful for me.
i recall once my australian teacher told us that, compared to chinese students, japanese show more initiative in presenting themselves and interacting with others, though their pronunciation are worse.
the best way to improve english is to practise more, just don't hesitate to speak out and write out. you should be courageous and dare to create more opportunities to show yourself in front of others. i think you'll make a progress soon.
mylot is a wonderful place full of native speakers who are kindly to help you and willing to make friends with you. i'm sure you'll benefit from them and enjoy stay here. wish you big improvement in english and good luck!

Thanks Sophialin, you are my first friend here. I feel so lucky I can know you. For English, I almost feel desperated. Some friends told me I need to stay here for 5 years before I can feel comfortable. 5 years, it's a long time. How many 5 yeare can I have in my life? I thought to speak out more every day. It looks so hard to me. yes, i have to do sth to change myself...... Thanks for your reply again.

Hello .
I have read your response . I have the same opinion .In our country we began to study english from the basic education till we graduation from the university but few of us can speak it fluent and the real is that many of my classmates seldon speak out .
There are very few foreigner friends in my surrounding they say and we don't have the chance but i think some time it nees ourdelf to find the chance and the most impotant after we find the chance is that we are shine enough to speak a word .
I used to study in Taian ,where is the most famous mountain-Mountain Tai ,and there usually many foreigner friends come here to have a tour ,so i usually to go to the foot of the MT. to meet some friens to chat wiith them to exercise my english listening and oral ,the first time to speak and the first word to speal out is very hard for me ,but i do it and now i keep contact with many of them -my friends .
I admire you very much because you have a good chance to meet many forengner rriends everyday and needn't to find them by yourself ...

we chinese students are inclined to think something unnecessary such as expression before we speak out. the result is we loose the opportunity just when we are hesitating. now i catch every chance to learn english.
wish everyone get large improvement in year 2008.

So lucky that you are in Canada, you already have the environment to say out your english. You should be happy for that , what you can do is just try your best to learn and practise.
Our education has no main fault, too many people in china you know, even the other countries did worse than us, right ?
