I have to go back to the hospital clinic tomorrow.

I'm not being admitted into the hospital or anything like that (at least I don't think I am). But I've been having some problems with a discharge coming out of my navel and some accompanying lower abdominal pain for the last week or so. So the nurse practitioner wanted me to come in and have it checked so she can decide what steps to take, and so that she can make sure that there is no internal infection going on. I haven't had any fevers or nausea, so I think I'm safe there. Originally, the clinic couldn't get me in until March 14. But I called and left the nurse practitioner a message about it, and apparently she pulled some strings or something to get me in sooner. Wish me luck everyone....I'm a bit nervous about this whole thing. If I'm not too sore from being poked and prodded tomorrow, I will post an update and let you know how it went. Big hugs to all........Carryl

I'm hoping it's something minor too. Lord knows I'm taking enough pills right now to choke a horse...I don't want to have to take more if there's an infection. But if I do, oh well. I'll just have to grin and bear it while biting on a piece of leather. LOL! Thanks PPP. Hugs!

After going through so much pain with the surgery, I would be nervous about any follow up care too. I heard that was normal, but still, every case is different so I'm glad they are getting you in. It would freak me out if I had discharge going from my navel! By the way, I love how you spell your name. I keep forgetting to tell you that. : )

Darn... it always seems like one of those things HAS to be a bother! I'm sure it will be easy to take care of... BRATS have had lots of surgeries, and it like a rule that you have to have a bit of trouble with the healing.
Wish you could have avoided it though... there are more than enough things to worry about already! HUGS!!

Well, considering that a lot of my friends tell me that "trouble" is my middle name, I guess it just comes with the territory. LOL! When this pain and aggravation stops, I'm going to throw a party! Don't worry....you'll get an invitation. Hugs to you too hon.

I had been getting better by the day. I had had some pain at a couple of the staple sites, and pain on the left side of my navel, but I expected those since they had been numb after the surgery and the nurse told me that it would probably hurt for a while. But the new pain showed up lower, and it just exhausts me sometimes. But I'm sure it will get taken care of and I will be back to my old self soon (I hope). Thanks hon. Hugs to you.

Carryl, don't get discouraged. It was all worth it. This is just a minor set back and will be fixed. I am so glad that you got ahold of the nurse practitioner. It was wonderful that she was able to pull some strings for you. Remember, drink your water and walk. Love ya! (((hugs)))

Hi Katlady,
I'm so very sorry to hear about this, and trust all will be okay. I can understand why you're nervous about this, and can 'totally relate' to the way you feel. Please take care of yourself, and watch your blood pressure too. I'll be watching for an update on things.

Actually, my regular doctor kicked up the dose on my blood pressure meds and it seems to be helping despite all of my nerves. I'll be posting an update here in a little bit. They are still trying to figure out what is going on. I have to wait a few days for them to call me and let me know. I'll keep you posted hon. Thanks and big hugs to you.

Sounds to me that you're in wonderful hands Carryl thanks to your nurse. She's right, you do need to have it checked out now not later. It doesn't sound like an infection to me either but it's better to be safe than to be sorry. I wish you luck hon!

Don't worry about being behind hon....I'm that way too. I have given up on ever getting caught up on everyone here. LOL! I'll relieve your nervousness right now....it looks like everything is actually healing up on it's own. The discharge has stopped, even though there are a few spots of blood on the gauze (more like pin points) when I change it. And most of the pain has gone too. Haven't heard back from the hospital yet with my results, but I think that if it was something serious, I would have been back in by now. Keep your fingers crossed. Hugs to you hon.

I'm sorry I didn't get on sooner hon. My daughter was hogging the computer on Thursday after my appointment, and Friday was spent at the hospital again having a CT scan done. I won't know for a few days what the results are though. Hopefully I won't have to have another surgery done. I am so not into that idea at all. I'll let you know as soon as I find out what the surgeon decides. Hugs to you hon.
