It's not a new arguement. We have heard it many times. But still, I want to know your position on this. I believe people change and with change comes different disposition too. I once thought that the cup is half full now with some changes in my life, I have a feeling that I see the cup half-empty. I need to see it half-full again Do you still see the same thing with your cup?

My cup is more than 1/2 full. I have a wonderful and bright daughter. I have an awesome husband (he's cute too). I have nice friendships. An ok job. I am relatively happy to be in my shoes. I've had ups and downs. For the past few years my cup has stayed almost the same!

This is a very interesting and good sentence which i like a lot.It shows the self confidence level that we are having in our selves.optimists say that it is at least half full and pessimist say it is only half fill..very nice sentence.

Mine is half full. Before it was half empty. I have viewed my life before in a negative way. Always thinking and worrying of what might happen and somehow this has given me fear of what tomorrow may bring. But now, I have changed that outlook in life. I always see it in a positive way. I believe that its very important to think positive and feel positive. Somehow, it made a big difference. Surely there is power in positive thinking.

Sadly, I still see it half empty. Right now, I've got everything that I need in life. A home, a fiance, a daughter, family, friends.. and a breath of air everyday, but I still feel lost, as if I'm missing a piece of me. I was born in a war torned country and became paralyzed from polio in that country. Then we refuged to America. In America we were poor, we lived with rats, and prayed that we had food to eat. And everyday at school, the kids called me names. I had no friends, I've never been to a school function or did anything normal adolenscents did. I just wished I had a normal childhood. I never had one...... that is the missing piece. It will always be half empty.

First of all... I'm sorry for this late reply. But then, thanks for sharing. I really appreciate. Your story is heartbreaking. I can't blame you to feel this way considering the hardship that you have gone through. But I know, deep in your heart, one day you will find the missing piece that you hoped for. Just keep the faith and it will come one day. Take care and cheers.

It depends on if I am filling it up or dumping it out. ;) Seriously, I know what you mean and I tend to look at things with an optimistic attitude. Being sad, angry, and bitter all the time is such a waste- someone very close to me is like that and it is so sad. So, I try hard to not be that way. I am sorry you are feeling down. Btw- I have seen your little picture (by your name) before and i think it is just SO neat!

When I was younger the cup was always half empty. Then i took a class on self esteem that changed my life. My cup is and always will be half full now. I know that everything happens for a reason and that if it cant be changed then you make the best of it. No argument just the way I feel about it :) I hope your glass gets half full soon.

I try to be a half-full kind of person. It is not always easy when life throws challenges in your path.

I think we have to train ourselves to better look for the bright side of things. It would just make our life easier, and with a pesimistic way to view things, what could be the benefit? That wouldn't make our job easier or the solution to a problem more obvious...on the contrary, everything gets darker and darker, like you were entering a cave with no light ahead, only in the back. Rarely will we have a full cup, to enter your metaphor, and when it's half-empty, may it be empty because we drank half of the nectar in it!

My cup is always half empty because I just took a drink and I am currently on my way to get a refill. Here is what I mean by that. If I find myself in a less than favorable position or circumstance it is usually because I had my hand in getting myself there. The only way I am going to get out of it is on my own. I am neither an optimist or a pessimist. I am more responsible than anyone else for my lot in life and if I find something in my life lacking, I will find a way to make it better.

I think that i am exactly like you...I know that some people say that life is just how you look at it you can look at it as the cup is half full or the cup is half empty and i use to look at the cup as being half full but then i started to grow up a little bit and see how things really are in life and how people really are in life and now i just basically say that the cup is half empty..although sometimes things change...

Life is always mysterious. We really don't know what will happen. It always depends on us how to treat life. The only important thing is... we don't lose hope. thanks for sharing and sorry for the late reply.

I see it half full. I cannot see this any other way because there is God. He gave us assurance that He will always be there for those who seek him and who ask his help all the time as long as we pray to him in the manner he commanded us.
