I live in the UK and I am very keen on traveling. The furthest that I have been to away from my home country is to Denedin in New Zealand. It felt a bit like being in Scotland with its heritage. So enjoyed spending a few months in New Zealand. I spent my first three weeks in gorgeous Northland seeing the white sand beaches, the oldest settlement in New Zealand and the old forests. I have also been places slightly nearer home like Australia, Fiji, the Cook Islands and Samoa. I don't like long flights so I do stop overs on the way.
The most exciting place I have seen is a difficult one to answer. It could be the Masai Mara in Kenya that I saw whilst on safari. Another place it could be is a cave in Belize and that day trip involved swimming into the cave and doing much climbing about. Another exciting place was Tikal in Guatemala where I walked through the jungle in the night and saw a magical sunrise from the top of a tall Mayan temple.

Cool thread! Well, first of all I would like to start off saying that you MUST travel!! Atleast if you get the chance, take it at once! Heh.
Well .. The farthest I have travelled is pretty much a two-way tie between: Hawaii and Germany/Spain. I went to Spain in Spring of 2006 .. But we stopped in Germany first (in Frankfurt). That was about a 9 or 10 hour plane ride to Germany. Hawaii was probably actually the longest .. Around 10 - 12 hours. It was 5 or 6 hours from Toronto to San Fransisco and another 5 or 6 hours to the Kona airport in Hawai'i. Also, the flight to Brazil comes close as that was around 10 hours as well. They were all good trips!
The most exciting place I have "seen" .. Well there may be a few. One would be Toledo, Spain the "holy city" or whatever lol. It was a city in Spain, LONG ago that used to have 3 religions in it: Christianity, Judaism, and Muslims (Islamic). Another would be Heidelberg, Germany which was an old castle it was really cool! Lastly, I would have to say Rio, Brazil because of the really nice beaches and the HUGE soccer stadium and all the natural beauty! Other notable mentions: The Canadian East Coast, Maine, Savannah, Georgia, Hawaii in general, Spain in general! :)

This is back when I was younger and in the Air Force. After basic training, tech school and then stationed in Florida for about a year I was sent to a base in Turkey. I liked it very much once I got used to the customs and the people who were very nice. On my time off my husband who at that time was a boyfriend that I had met there and I would travel all over the place. We saw a castle in the sea and it was fascinating. There are a few castles over where I was stationed. It was fascinating to walk through them and imagine your self back in the time these were being used. At the time I was there it was a very nice place to live. There was lots to see and my boyfriend (now husband) liked to go on rides in the car when we were off.

Vienna, Austria, I went on our "European tour" with the family when I was 14. I wanted to see the horses, but they were sick.
I really enjoyed Rome and England. I've been back to London twice as an adult. Once with my mother and once with my roommate.

The furthest traveled on the Pacific side is Okinawa. I was stationed in Korea, and stopped off in Okinawa for a couple of days waiting to get to the U.S. to see my hubby. Some of the nicest prettiest bluest water outside the Caribbean is over there. The furthest traveled on the Atlantic side is Saudi Arabia. I had to be there for three months and traveled there via Frankfurt, Germany, which has some of the cleanest bathrooms in the world in my opinion. On the U.S. tip, I lived in California and been to Alaska and Hawaii on the same trip coming and going to Korea. Interesting places. The furthest north is Massachusetts. The most exciting place? humm. for me, probably hands down New York City; the joint never sleeps, it's where I was born and I won't lie, I'm impartial.

When it comes to me,the farest place i had ever went was the city which my younger sister'university was in.I have not went very far,and do not pass my province.I only went to some cities in my province from i birth.I always traveled with my mother when i was young.
At this winter,my sister and i planed to have a trip to climb the mountain which is the most beautiful in my country. The mountain is pass my province, and the trip will be my farest travelling. But stoped by the heavy snow. The snow makes it dangerous to climb the mountain. It is pity for me.
I will go on to travel farer than before.

for me the farthest that I traveled is going to South America in Sao Paulo Brazil, Lima Peru and Chile Santiago and even to Suriname Paramaribo..I considered it farthest because I come from Asia in which it takes me almost 22hours traveling time from Manila to Amsterdam it takes me 14 hours then from Amsterdam to final destination it takes another 12 hours but its exciting yet tiring and here you can experience jetlag coz of time difference where you came from.. so far all the places I visited I like them all ha ha ha I cant select because they offered you different experiences..different interaction with their cultures and people..but its worth it..you better try for traveling far too...see you again here

I live in England and the furthest I've gone is to California. It was a 10/11 hour flight to San Fransisco. At the time I was still young enough that the air hostess kept checking on me every hour :P
