I really hate talking on the phone. I dont really know why. I would much rather chat with my friends over the computer instead. I feel its easier and you can talk a lot longer and cheaper, esp if they are long distance. How do you feel? Would you rather talk on the phone or computer and why?

It is nice sometimes to hear someone's voice, especially that of someone you love, but for communicating generally I do prefer email and online to speaking on the phone. When I have to contact a business I hate using the telephone and having to press 1 or press 2 to get another recorded message and hold the line before getting through to a live person who then wants your details before they will answer you. Its so much easier to type out what you want and give information.

I agree I hate calling businesses especially. I usually have my mom call certain places for me so I dont have to do it lol.

I hate when I call businesses and get the whole automated messages it drives me nuts not being able to talk to a live operator. I always hit 0 to see if it will connect me to an operator to direct my call to the right place so I dont have to sit on the line forever pushing different buttons and listening to different options. I don't like chatting with friends on the phone but to talk to a business I like it better on the phone instead of waiting to receive an email back when ever they get around to responding to me.

This probably sounds silly but I actually have a phobia about phones, I find them intrusive and I get tongue tied and uncomfortable and never know what to say on the phone, when I am on the computer I can express myself more clearly and if I make a mistake I can go back and correct it, if you make a mistake when talking to someone you can't delete it or correct it, because you can't take back what you've already said.

I am the same way. I really hate talking on the phone. It ties me up from doing other things when I have to sit there with the phone to my ear. If I am chatting on aol I can go back and forth and do other things at the same time. I feel much more comfortable chatting online then chatting on the phone.

I think that it's much better to talk on the computer as compared to the phone! Why? It's quicker. I can say about a million things in about a 20 minute span, but when it comes to the phone, you can only talk so much in 20 minutes and yeah, it's just much more time-consuming.

As long as my kids are up and about, I much prefer to chat online as opposed to over the phone. Kids have this amazing ability to bug the crap out of you once they hear your voice as you're on the phone. It's so annoying! lol! But overall, I would say I prefer talking on the phone. Sadly, I don't think to call people much anymore, as we're usually keeping in touch online. Even friends who are in town, local calls that are FREE... we chat online. How crazy is that?? lmao!

I definitely prefer the computer. I can come and go as I have a minute here and there between housework or taking care of the kids, think about what and how I want to say something, and there are no uncomfortable silences nor do they have to listen to my kids pestering me in the background. Definitely the computer.
