Why Do They Give Up?

Why do most of the new users of mylot just give up? This really worries me. How am I supposed to generate referral income when most of the people i refer just dont participate and give up?
Is it my fault or it mylot's fault?
Your response will be greatly appreciated!

I joined the site about 9 months ago. I posted a few things and didn't get much of a response because I hadn't established myself with people up to that point. I also hadn't added many friends, therefore not allowing people to know that I even existed. I got discouraged and didn't use the site up until last month. Once I got re-established and started adding friends, well my feeling of being uncomfortable quickly dissapeared. It may be that they gave up for some of the same reasons.

They might not realize that you get what you put into something.

Firstly forget about making money. Get involved in the discussions and then, one day you will suddenly look at the earnings figure on the left of this page and realise that you have made something. Don't order the Ferrari on the strength of it, but bit by bit it will grow until you get the magic words friom myLot control "Congratulations, you have earned enough in February to qualify for March's payment! We will process payouts on or before March 15". I got 2 cents for telling you that. Easy really.

keywords that are related to this discussion. In your response try to include keywords that are in the title and keywords within the body of this discussion.
Its a common mylot tip.

yeah because of how you targeted the discussion with certain keywords.
Anyway, I did two responses to other discussions and I didnt Earn a cent! But I will keep going though. I hope that it was some type of mistake, or is it the fact that I have not been active on mylot that much? Either way Im going to keep going!

It takes a lot of time to become addicted to mylot, I think, lol.
Some people may be put off by the fact they are only making a few pennies a day...though the earnings are increasing...yesterday I made around 50 cents!
If you have a way to contact the people you referred, you might be able to email them and say hey! I made x amount last week! Or "check out what I learned on mylot..."
I like mylot not so much for the money, but because of the interesting things I've learned, the inspiration that cures writers block, and the nice supportive people here that actually seem like they care about the same things you do when no one else seems to. I would probably belong if we were not paid - but I doubt I would post as much as I do now!

When I first came to mylot, I was here for the money then I realized that you can hardly even get paid so I left, then I became alot wiser and came back to mylot to develope my communication skills and to learn how to take advantage of good oppertunities. In the process I developed an addiction for devolping good relationships on mylot.

if you refer them in, you should be taking the opportunity to guide them. What I normally do is to ask for their messenger ID, like YM or MSN, and I will add them in and chat with them. Most of them are pretty new to earning money from the net concept.. so I took the opportunity to show them and help them whenever needed.

Thats the worst mistake I have made. Doing the opposite of what you just said. Thanks for the feedback.

They havent taken the time to see how good mylot really is. They say that mylot doesnt pay enough but it is enough when you add that to the nice people and community that their is on mylot.
Im thanful for your response.

Not all people are patient and for people who are not inclined to type and respond to discussions for lengths of time , it is likely to be frustrating if they do not start earning. They must first get used to the idea of posting long responses and must have the aptitude to be descriptive . They may just post one or two liners for which we may not get any earning update. Then they will stop writing because they would think it is a waste of time.Someone had said that we can upload photos only after reaching 500 points. So, it becomes a vicious circle. You start earning and then you get more earnings and you are even more inclined to write more. You yourself are getting impatient[with 83 discussions].How will people who are invited [they join in with expectations] have the patience to go through?I have also invited a few but they are not inclined. We willhave to plod along.Slow and steady would give results one dayI am sure.

I think most people want to learn how to make money online, but don't think it can be this easy. then there are people who don't understand how the site works and just walk away. the best way to keep your referrals here is too keep an eye on your referral count and make sure you go and say hi as soon as you see they have signed up. let them know how the site works and the fun and interesting people that are here.
if you keep in touch with them they will come back for more

yeah - if I knew someone who had the time or inclination to stay at mylot I would definitely refer them but there is no point trying to force people into things! I have been making payout again lately but it is about more than that isn't it? I have made friends, given and received support, been through highs and lows , laughed and cried with thos I have met on this wonderful site of ours and in my opinion that is what is more important! xxx

Not everyone is geared to be able to stay on myLot!
You have to be a certain individual, to be able to use the utilities that are here on myLot!
It is not a site for moneymakers! It is a site where serious individuals post and discuss, serious topics!
I personally don't refer anyone to myLot, unless I am assured that they would even be interested in the type of format that myLot is!

I think it is because it takes a really long time to get any money from here. Also people don't read the rules until something is wrong. HEHE When they say descriptive responses they don't mean small one liners. So when someone comes on here and does yeah nope and have a good day then get no money for 50 of those kind of posts they think it is too difficult to make money here. Basically answer the question well and you will earn. But since most people don't know this right away then they leave blaming the site and not themselves. I had one referral here and they didn't do much but I still have been about to get a few cashouts though I am not very active.

When people participate in such programs, they think it is easy to earn some extra money. But it is not. You have to work hard for it.
People who don't have patience , or want to get rich in one day , give it up.
It's not your fault at all !

They should accept the fact that mylot isnt the place for quick money. Money will come to thos who take the right actions and to those who are patient just like you said.
why do the give up?

It is the attitude problem. Most of the people who leave mylot are nomads in the web.Trying one here and one there for quick money without any conviction and passion.Once you got acquainted well with the very idea of a decent forum with great friends you develop a bondage and get stuck here.Money is slowly pushed down to the second place. You start to like mylot more and eventually the friends circle ,the quality of the discussions and your earnings improve.
People are very impatient and want big money for the two liner trashes they produce. If they don't get they quit.

MyLot is not for everyone, no site is. It could just be that the people you refer do not find myLot to be a good fit. I have that problem. MyLot is more about communication, not earnings. The earnings are an added bonus.

Exactly. I always come across people on mylot that are trying to find away to beat the mylot system and earn quick money. But its not gonna happen.
