Make New Friends. But keep the old. One is silver and the other gold!

In my desktop publishing, I received IV grade School question paper for printing. This statement attracted me and I thought I shall share this with you. In fact the students are asked to rewrite the passage in neat curvasive writing.
Now mylotians, you can type your opinion on the above statement.

its really interesting statement to response and honestly i don't know where i should start, LOL :P
in my interpretation, we should always make new friend to build more networking but we should "maintain" our relationship with the old friends. we can't predict each person would be and what position they would have in their field work in the future so by "maintain" our relationship with old friends would give "benefit" for us in the future which might be we would like to ask any helping from those person due some circumstances.
its easy to make new friend in our life but to keep good relationship with our old friends is not easy as we ever thought before. in fact, its easy to loose our old friend rather than to keep good relation with them

YOur response is rated. Very well narrated why one should retain old friends. My parents used to tell me when I was in school and college, that I am prepared to do anythng for friends than for family members. I used to tell them: To help family members parents are there. Who is there to help friends who are in trouble, and when their parents are not in a position to do anything.
As we grow, our friendship circle becomes bigger and bigger and life becomes more meaningful with all their wisdom and good thoughts flowing towards us.

For me it means it's is good to have new friends but don't forget the old friends because there is already a relationship bond with each other. Try to choose friends and put it on the silver the one who is not good enough. But to the precious friend you have the one who you really think worth to be your friend it is the gold that never fade.

The author of the above statement (unknown) I think does not mean that friendship be measured in gold or silver. It is only to convey that both old and new friends are important and valuable. I am glad you like to to have old friends alongside new friends. That is very important for anyone to have a meaningful friendship. Thanks for response. With regards.

Yes never stop making friends as your life journey continue. But always remember to keep the old ones because your relationship with them have proven the odds of challenges and happiness. Without them you are not a better person as you are now. They became a part of your life and will be for forever.

I agree with the way of experession.Old friend actually is gold.at the same time,the new friend is silver.we have profound feeling with our old friends.We need their favours at any time.To the new ones,we should make efforts to cultivate our feeling and get wonderful friendship.

It is just right the way it is written. In our life we make new friends but already have old friends that are precious to us. Friends are there for you everytime you need them.Don't forget them this way they'll not forget you.

Thats really true because one should make new friends in life but should never orget his old friends because both are important. Now those friends are important to you but before them there were others who have accopanied you in every circumstances, you must never forget them with time.
