Do you sleep earlier on Sunday nights?

Ok, Sunday has just passed so you can't claim you forgot what you did every Sunday prior. :P
We have 7 days a week and Monday is typically the start of the work week for most people. And so, it logically follows that Sunday is the day you start getting the Monday jitters.
You may be working yourself or you have to wake up your spouse who works or you have to wake up your children for school or... do you sleep earlier on Sunday nights just to "prepare" for Monday?
Or do you instead choose to party wildly like no tomorrow? Or... ? Do share your thoughts. =)

Unfortunately I had to stop working due to disability, but before that, I was teaching. Sunday night I got all my stuff together for the week and went to bed by 11. But the Sunday at the end of a school vacation was ten times more depressing, and I really never slept that night!!!

I sleep earlier on Saturday nights, and Sunday nights. That is because on Saturday, I want to get rested for Church and on Sunday nights, I am always promising myself that I have to get to bed around ten or ten thirty so I get some good nights sleep and so I can think well in the morning. I find that every second Wednesday I go to choir practice - not this one, and do not go home until after ten, Tuesday night is bath night, other nights, there is something going on, with mylotting, etc., my going to bed time gets later and later.
Not the partying kind.

Early? What's that? I don't work on Mondays so I can stay up late or even real late on Sunday nights. I think I would still stay up if there were a good film to see even if I had to get up and work on Mondays.Sleep is overrated.

Yes, but sleeping too late is bad for health, isn't it? :PP

I tend to go to sleep around the same time every night no matter what day of the week it is. Ocassionally, I will stay up a little later. I also tend to wake up about the same time each day whether I have to work or not. If I sleep in, it is a surprise to me.

Well, its now EARLY Sat for me, but....
I tend to go to bed when I'm tired. Last night I was in bed by 9. The night before (thurs) I went to bed at 10 because I needed to start fasting 2 cats then.
I often stay up later on Friday and Sat nights, just because I don't have to be up as early, but when I get up early, like I did yesterday morning to take the cat to the vet for a fix, I run out of steam early.
I do TRY to get to bed early on week nights, including Sunday, but sometimes good intentions fail.

In case you are mistaken, I wasn't casting blame. I had been busy too and I am still going through the old email notifications. :P
I mentioned the week old part before you mentioned it was already Sat and since I posted this on Mon, I was trying to put the time line in perspective for you.
Cheers!:D

it depends on what you did on sunday , like if you did nothing at all and just stayed at home all day, then you tend to sleep earlier .

Wow..it's already a week. I have always wanted to sleep early to "prepare" for Monday otherwise my mind will think Monday is Sunday and it refuse to be awakened.
However, even when I plan to sleep early, I always ended up I sleeping later than usual on Sunday nights, especially if I am logged on to mylot. Otherwise, I would be glued to the TV screen. The temptation is simply too great on Sunday nights. Looks like tonight will be a late night for me again :(

No I don't. Actually I sleep later than usual. Maybe it's because of the feeling that I have to catch the last minute that's left of the weekend. hehe. And besides, even if I sleep early, I would still wake up late. So, there's not much difference from sleeping late. That's why I prefer going to bed late, as I could finish more things.

When I was working I hated Sunday nights. I could never fall asleep. I guess it was just knowing that I had to get up in the morning and go to work. I know it was physcological because now that I am not working anymore, I have no problems falling asleep. I used to toss and turn till 3 or 4 in the morning and then have to get up at 7 to go to work. I had tried everything to fall asleep including reading most of the night, which would work on any other given night. On Monday nights I would have no trouble falling asleep and would be in bed by 8pm because of not getting any sleep the night before.

Your life sounds exactly like mine. When I was working, I couldn't get any decent sleep on Sunday nights just because I knew I had to get up early Monday morning.
When I started just working part time in the evenings, I had no problem sleeping.
Now, my husband is working nights and I always get up early to fix him breakfast, so I'm kind of back in the old routine. I'm such a night owl, that I have a hard time shutting down the computer at and getting some sleep. My hubby is lucky that I can still cook eggs while I'm asleep! LOL

I know, I know. It is probably psychological but it is nevertheless a big thing.

Unfortunately, I don't get to bed as early as I should on Sunday evenings. The funny is that I psych my mind into thinking that Sunday night is still the weekend since I didn't have to go to work that day. I wake up every Monday morning wishing I had gone to bed as if it were a work night. (LOL) Oh well...I don't think I will ever change my ways. I have too much fun on the weekends! MyLot has a big part to do with my staying up late each night too!

I am not an insomniac I am just a night owl. I am fairly well rested after about 4 or 5 hours sleep. Any more than that and I am over tired and cranky usually.

When I had a day job, my Sundays were always spent getting ready for Monday. I usually didn't like to make plans that day because I'm usually busy doing laundry, making my lunch, planning the week's meals, making sure my Monday work outfit was pressed and ready, etc. I'd then settle in and watch television, and usually, I'd try to go to bed early. Most times I had the Monday jitters and would rehash the previous week and anticipate my next work day and end up not going to sleep at a reasonable hour. Right now I'm not working a "real job"(but will be starting a new job at the end of the month)and Sundays are still the day I get ready for Monday. I still don't go to bed any earlier.

Like any other day of work, I sleep at 11PM or 12midnight. I used to spend Sunday out but I found a little contentment home and spend it to read some books, or browse in the internet and read some interesting articles.
I also spend it to write some actions plans for the upcoming week. A rest day spend well is a blessing so they say.
