what is wrong with my cat?

Some cats are talkers. Talk to her. Or maybe she wants to be cuddled or played with. Or maybe she wants to watch TV (my cat was fascinated by a show about birds of prey - and to show she could hunt, too, she caught a mouse two days later).

Have you simply just held your sweet kitty and rubbed her until she purred and went to sleep? I have 3 kitties and if they are fed and watered they want to be held they are like children they just want to be loved. Also she might want to go out side, but I think she wants to be held try it sometimes good luck.

Sounds like she may want to play or just wan attention. If you think she is sick, bring her to the vet.

oh , almost forgot. How long have you had her? Is she allowed outside? Was she before if not now? She will meow to go out and be persistant if she really wants to go. Even if she has never been out she may want to go. I had a window seat for mine so they could get there and look out. They do get bored. Does she have toys to play with.

There are so many good responses here. I'd have to agree with all of them. She wants attention, is in heat, or has a medical problem. She could be a talker. My baby was a talker and did say mama. I've had many talkers and still do. When they do talk , just pay attention to what's going on with them and you will learn what she wants. If in heat she will yeowl like crazy and in a funny-weird way. That will drive you crazy and this happens every 3 months maybe more. If she is eating and drinking then check here litter box and see if her feces is normal. If it is not then she may need something else or the vet. Either way all of these have a remedy. Just give her lots of loving and attention reguardless of what is going on with her. This is what all need. Good luck and please let us know what it is bothering her when you find out. It's a she kitty! You just got a chatty little girl kitty on your hands. She sounds like my cat. Does she have a lot of different sounding Meows, like different syllables kind of? She probably is board and wants attention, or just has way too much to say and not enough cats to say it to, so she's saying it to you. Unless she's really wining and being obnoxious don't worry about it. Give her attention, but don't spoil her rotten, and let her talk. At least my cat has a very pleasant sounding meow, except when she wants her breakfast, then she sounds almost like she's crying, but I know she's not, she just does that to make sure she gets fed right away. Impatient little thing. Other times she just talks to get us to come outside and look at her and play with her.

Is she spayed? Female cats can get really loud & vocal when they're in heat. It's better for her health & your sanity if you spay her if she hasn't been done already. If she has been fixed, and she still meows a lot, then it's just her personality. As another responder said, some cats are just talkative.

I agree with the other responses. It sounds like she wants attention and likes to talk! Is she left alone a lot? Then maybe she gets lonesome. I would talk to her, stroke her, play with her and see if that helps.

There are several issues to check in this situation among the ones suggested. Has your little girl been spayed? If not she may be in heat and that is one of the most annoying things to live with. If she has not been spayed and is in heat check with your vet and see if it is ok to have her spayed right now. It is more expensive to spay a cat in heat. If you wait until the heat is over, be sure and keep your cat inside so she does not mate. Is this a change in behavior and can you eliminate the possibility of her being in heat???? If it is a change in behavior, it may be that she is having a medical problem. Only you can tell if she seems in distress. I had a male cat that was constipated, it was not picked up by my vet. My cat stood in front of me and meowed in distress all of the time, It sounded like he was saying Mama help, mama help. It was horrible. It took us forever to realize that he was constipated. If this is possible, please check the litter pan and see what this feces looks like. If you need clairification on any of this respond to this message and I will add more information. Good luck. My cat will meow when I have not spent enough time with her. She is lonely and wants attention, she will meow. Just give her love everyday.
