I thought they were suppose to be the best yet?

I think it is the best year yet for the seasons I have seen. I really think the guys are alot better than the girls though. It is going to be a tough decision to pick a winner from a few of the guys because they are very good. I really like it that the guys truly can sing and they sing alot of old songs we are used to listening to when we were in that day and age.

I am a big fan of American Idol. No, I do not think this season is the best yet as they claimed it to be. The guys are a bit better off than the girls. Hopefully, we we will get a guy winner this year. My favourite is David Archuleta. His voice sounds great for his age.

I would have to disagree as far as the guys so far. I think there are quite a few good ones and this season is turning out pretty good so far. But then again, I don't think very many of the winners are that good in the first place. The only ones I really liked were kelly clarkson and Carrie underwood. I also think Daughtery was pretty good for a non winner.

I think that they say it's the best each year to get people coming back so the ratings will go higher. Who wants to watch if they say, "This year we have the third best group ever". It's all about advertizing and the power of suggestion. I love David Archuleta and thinks he sings great but if the judges hadn't praised him so much would he so popular? My favorites for this year are Brook White and David Archuleta, I hope they both make it to the top four so that they can release albums.

I don't think it's too bad. There really aren't any "Sanjaya's" this year, which is good. Ok, well maybe the biker nurse doesn't quite fit in, but I think it will be tough this year to pick a winner. I'm still undecided as to who my favorite is. I'll have to wait til they narrow it down to about 6.

I quite like this season, not only for the singing talents, but mostly because I think the participants this season is more glamorous. They know how to dress up better, even without the help of the make-up artists.

I do not find that they acoustic for the top 24 is never as good as when they do the top 12, they have said that they turn the volume down so we don't hear the screeching remember these people are not top 12 yet and you are probably judging against the top 12 which is not fair. so far to date I like the little 16 year old something archuletto, david cook, the australian guy, in the girls, eyesha or whatever her name is, the irish girl

The young kid, David, is probably my favorite. I think he has a good shot at winning too, because he has that teenage girl fan base who actually call in and vote (you know, the ones who kept Sanjaya afloat for so long last season). I also LOVE Michael Johns because he's hot, but I don't think he has the best voice of the bunch. And none of the girl singers are wowing me this time.

Yeah I'll have to agree with you there - you know my choice changes each week as the one that I like last week didn't do so well this week. Umm I'm beginning to like David Cook - the rocker - awesome Lionel Richie interpretation of his song. I also like the other David (the young one) but I think he needs to up the anti. I wouldn't be surprised if my choice changes next week.

During auditions week, i did think that there were a lot of awesome singers and probably better than last year's (i still love melinda! haha!) but I knew that there was something wrong, something weird. Yes they were all good but no one was the best. You know what I mean? No one stood out among the lot therefore for the first time in my idol watching history, I had no bet. Nope, not even the young 16 year old dude is not my bet. Not even dreadlocks guy. See, I don't even know their names! Maybe it's still a hangover because of my bet losing last year but still, it's just so weird. I always have a bets by auditions week. Like Carrie, I knew that she was the one based on her audition. She was really the one for me! Sighs... there's really bet for me.... Man I feel so detached...

I have been watching, too. I have a few favorites, but only one at this point has stood out from the crowd, imo. Not like in seasons past where several were very good from the start. However, I am watching it as I type, and I must say a few of them have already come into their own tonight...very exciting to see. I do think this could be a very good group in the end- I think there will be alot of growing- whereas in seasons past, some of them were so good at the start that there was no where for them to really go. Does that make sense? I like seeing them find themselves and become better and better every week.

Totally, agree with you. This season is not the best batch they claimed it to be. Whether personality, appearance or vocal power, they cannot compete with the participants from the past seasons. Maybe it's their song choice. A wrong song choice can be disasterous cause they might not reflect the singer's full potential. They guys are a bit better off than a girls though. I like David A. He is young, cute and has great vocal talent.
