Do You Spoil Your Pets??

I treat my cat and dog like they are my own kids and they are given tons of attention and love by our entire family. This is why I spoil them once in a while. My husband hates it when I do this but a lot of times when it comes to dinnertime here I give the dog some of our people food if it's something that agrees with him. Like when I make meatloaf and mashed potatos he gets a small plate of both of those thing. Once in a while I give our cat a plate of warm milk or a little vanilla ice cream. My daughter does this too but my hubby says he's never heard of anybody treating their pets that good and tell me they're not human you know. Well I do know that and I figure if I want to give them a few little goodies once in a while I don't see anything wrong with that. Do you? Do you treat your pets to little goodies and sort of humanize them a little bit? What do you give your pets for goodies that they love?

I'm not going to say I don't spoil my little Maltese I do but I will say this, I take better care of the dog than myself. I will not allow table scraps as the vet told me these little dogs must never get heavy. Our Puppy is 4 years old and weighs 4 pounds 8 oz. We love our dog like one of the kids.

Forgot to mention that Yes we do give treats but they're healthy choices from the animal hospital where we get the shots done and actually we get these little treats a lot of times for free and even when we pay it's a whole lot cheaper than in the store and isn't just all fat content.

I have a houseful of animals, actually more like a zoo. The cats and pup eat thru out the day, but when it comes to dinner time, they will turn their nose up to the food unless there is something extra in there. They know when its dinner time, they either get a little of whatever was for dinner or some canned food mixed in with their food. I would say they are spoiled. We used to have a rabbitt that was the same way, he had to have his people food too.

Rabbits make great pets, they will even use a litter box. Also when you have a boy rabbit and he isn't fixed, you should have a stuffed animal in the cage with him. That is for extraciricular activities. That is the funniest thing and the cutest too. Its funny when he is busy with the stuffed animal, and its so cute when he takes care of the stuffed animal. I had found a stuffed bunny, his size and color. He took care of her, he groomed her, he cuddled with her and he nimbled on her like he was kissing her. And then he went to town, LOL. I am not joking neither, this is the truth, hehe.

Let me ask one question. Where is dogs and cats food coming from? Is it natural or processed food?
Dogs and cats don't have pets food in wild but we force them to eat processed food.
"Human" choices are also good for pets.
I cook for my pets. They have well cook meat with veggie and rice. Nothing wrong with that.
I give them ice cream during hot summer and they love it.
They like raw cabbage and raw peppers....

I certainly spoil my pets. We have two cats, two dogs, two birds, one mouse & four goldfish. It is difficult to spoil goldfish & birds. The cats are especially spoilt. One of them sleeps on bed with my husband & I every night The other cat sleeps on my daughters bed.
I spent $1200 last year on vets bills getting my cats eye fixed. A few years ago we spent $1000 on getting an operation on one of the dogs legs.

Yes very guilty as charged! My cats are spoiled rotten. My oldest boy is still a little gelious of my boyfriend. Some say the cats get away with everything and my kids get away with nothing.

I do spoil the animals. We have three cats and they seem just like family to me also. They give such unconditional love. My absolute favorite pet is the one in my avatar. His name is Humphrey and he's like my little shadow. Actually, he's a not so little a shadow since he weights about 20 pounds. I have to be careful with the food treats but I do give him little bits and pieces from time to time. He loves yogurt and the other cats don't so whenever I have a little carton of yogurt I spoon some onto the lid and give it to Humphrey and we snack together. We also give all of them catnip from time to time and it's fascinating to watch because they all react differently. They all get stoned in different ways. LOL

i have always treated my pets like little babies. after all that is what they are.lol
right now i have been hoping that that new chip they came out with works cuz she ran away one morning when we where taking my son to school.
anyway my hubby thought i was crazy sometimes too. every other week i went food shopping and to walmart for diapers and things, well i would get each of the kids(i have 3) a treat and i would also get our dog one. on holidays she got all the goodies for dinner and then when it was pie time she got a piece of that too. her favorite treat was lolli pops. lol so we always had pops for her and the kids and if the kids had one so did she. my hubby used to say thats not good for her but it really isn't good for anyone right.
we have bags of treats and goodies for her when we do find her and i hope we do. we are really missing her.

I want to get one of those chips for our Louie too. I asked the vet about it last time we were in there and he said it would only cost like $35 so I would like for him to have that. He hasn't run away, but with all the turkeys and deer that go through our backyard if he would see one he'd probably yake off after them. And I'd rather be safe than sorry.

we had her a year before we had it done cuz we where moving home to a small town with lots of deer and woods and i was so afraid that being a new place she might wonder away if she got out. we had it done a week before we left and the next day she took off. i was so mad and wanted to do it there cuz it was going to be $20 cheaper. it is nice to have and if we were to get another pet they would get it but she has been missing for 3 months now and we haven't heard a thing. i thank someone took her and now i am just waiting for them to take her to the vet or something and them find the chip. she was full blood siberian husky and was very friendly and loved kids so i am sure someone picked her right up.

Yes, I certainly do spoil my pets! I have two little dogs - a Lhasa Apso and a Shih-Tzu who are 8 and 11 years old. They sleep on the bed with us at times, they have little coats for the winter-time, and they get bathed regularly.
For a treat (which they get quite often) I give them some raw steak if we are having steak for dinner, because they absolutely love it! I give them a bowl of milk sometimes, and their favourite treat is cheese! They know the sound of the fridge door opening when I get the cheese out, and they come running!
So yes - I spoil my pets once in a while, and see nothing wrong in it.

Hi welder. It sounds like you treat your dogs the same way we treat ours - well, they are part of the family, aren't they?
We won't go on holiday without our dogs - if they can't go, then we don't go, and we would never dream of putting them into kennels just so we can have a holiday.
Pets are for life and are a big committment, they depend on us for everything, and they give so much back to us. My theory is that if someone loves animals as you and I do, then they must be a good person.
I have request you as a friend and hope you accept.

My cat thinks that I am her pet and she is my fuzzy little human. She is so incredibly spoiled that it is almost sickening and a sure fire way to make everyone who visits us laugh their butts off. She's badly spoiled, she gets waited on hand and foot and if you dont do what she wants you to do, she gives you that look of disdain..

My hubby and I are childless by choice. We do have two cats though and they are our little babies. We spoil them rotten on a daily basis. They pretty much run the house and what our little princesses want they get. I see why you spoil them. What is the good of a pet if you can't spoil them.

OMG... yes... all our animals are spoiled. They sleep with us... get lots of attention, have their own treats,
Our dogs are just like our kids. I started buying bacon strips and sharing them with the dogs. My kids always give the dogs the rest of their ice cream and I have caught my youngest giving licks off her popscicle!

Pets are really like our children . They are like people too that needs our attention. The more we take care of them they became more loyal to us especially dogs. There are breed of dogs that are very that takes care of our disabled . So we really get so attach to them and I think it is not really spoiling them. They are are really fun to be with. Just like a child they make us happy.

For me it is the other way round. My fiancee really loves cats and dogs. He treats them like his own kids. He buys them expensive meals and is very attentive to his cat. Ok its not that I hate pets but treating them like kings is not good. He now wants to add two more pets, another cat and a dog. I am the one who cleans after them and I think two is enough.

Me and my husband both spoil our pets if our dog is by the table when we are eating we will give him bites of meat. We always buy them special treats at the store and our dog sleeps with us and is treated like a king he gets covered up with blankets and sleeps on our pillow.
