I never did, When I was 16 a friend asked me to ride with him on his motor cycle and I was too afraid. I am 53 years old tomorrow and I have never driven or was a passenger on one, they scare me, this open machines on the road, along side cars, and buses it makes me shudder to think of it. my aunt started driving one at 55 years old, how about you have you ever owned or was a passenger on one? if yes what was it like, if not why not?

Yes,I did.But not skilled in it.When I first drived the car,I felt very nervous. The only thing I can see is the road in front of my car. Now,even I can drive a car,I still don not like it .

Yup. I was living in another country and motorcycle was one of the common vehicles you can see roaming around the street. I have some friends who owned motorcycles and they always offered to ride me home. It was quite fun to ride on the motorcycle except for the helmet which was kind of heavy and never failed to mess up my hair, lol. I never drove one though since I wasn't carrying an International driving license.

I don't have good enough eyesight or balance to drive a motorcycle. My mother had one when she was a teenager, and so did my husband. I don't think I'd feel comfortable on a motorcycle, because of the noise, and because of my balance.

nooo i havent even tried to be a passenger in one. its scary with all the accidents on the road, and besides its an open vehicle thus making damage more crucial. i guess i will not risk it.

I have never driven a motorcycle but I have rode on the back of one a few times when I was younger. The person I rode with didn't go fast and there wasn't much traffic so it was okay for me. We didn't go very far and back. I don't really want to ever ride one again though.

When I was very young like 6,7 8ish my Uncle always drove around on a motor scyle and I wanted to go badly. He kept saying when I was older around 16 he would take me. He never did end up taking me and now I dont even think I would want to ride on one. I think its to dangerous. Anything can happen and you have nothing to help support you at all. If you get into an accident you will be knocked off the thing completely. I dont know just the tought scares me. Its scary for me in a car to go along side those big trucks much less be on a motor cycle. So yea Its just not for me.

I drove my dad's Harley Davidson around our 2 acre yard when I was about 16 or 17. I will never forget how cool it was. I haven't had the privilege of owning my own Harley, but believe me - it's one of my life's goals. My dad always loved them and naturally, I followed suit. He had a good point lol

A couple of years ago my husband bought a 1985 Honda Interceptor VF500. I thought it looked nice, sounded nice, but I didn't dare to ride on it with him. I was TERRIFIED, I basically shared all the fears that you have. He made the comment that he would have to find someone else to ride w/ him if I didn't go. That infuriated me, so I tried, still scared. Then one day at my uncle's house, the kids were puttering around on a vintage Honda trail 90 bike. I mustered up the courage to ride it, and decided to borrow it and practice at home. After a few weeks of building my confidence and balance on that little thing, I asked hubby to buy me a bike for my b-day. We were going to buy a Honda Nighthawk, but we live out on dirt roads so I got a dual sport bike instead. It's a Yamaha XT 225. I have been riding since 2006 and hope to take a safety course and get my licence this year. (I was on a permit)

Riding on a bike is absolutely fantastic. My hubby and I go all over the place on ours. We just bought a new touring bike so that we could take further rides. Now we have 8 bikes!! I blog all about our rides. You can check it out at http://ridetheworldover.blogspot.com Who knows, maybe you will decide to start riding :-)

Indeed it's very unsafe ridding a motor cycle compared to driving a car. The motorist is vulnerable to cars, bus and lorries moving around him. I could understand that the idea of riding amid heavy hectic traffic it's really scary. Because it's really risky riding a bite, and seeing a lot of motorists victims involved in accidents, my dad won't allow me to ride a bike or get a bike driving license at all. But still I manage to learn the basic simple operations by riding my cousin's or my uncle's bikes in my house compound. It's really fun to ride it within the front yard area without worrying the traffic or being knocked down by cars. I did made several attempts of riding it within the neighbourhood and it's really exciting. But I did not dare for more because I learn it just for curiosity and get myself prepared in case I need to ride a bike one day.

I dated a biker and so spent much time on the back of a harley,,,,loved it. there is nothing like it. I do understand your fear. My boyfriend was given to taken chanses,....I had kids and was a single mom. I could not take those sorts of chances with my life. I hve kids that need me and I have too many friends that are never the same due to a freak accident .....even tho tho they wore a helmet. they are fun but yes....there are risks.

I have ridden as a passenger many times, but I only drove one once while I was on vacation in Thailand last month. I was always nervous to ride as a passenger because I was worried about falling, but that never happened to me. I went pretty slow when I started, but it was mostly because I was on windy mountain roads. I don't like going fast unless I am protected so I prefer a bicycle. Debbie

I am from malaysia and i have a motorcycle license sinec 16 It is cool, enjoying the wind and the speed on the ride However it is also quite dangerous as there is no other protection to protect your body When I'm back in my hometown, which is a small town, i ride motorcycle to outings with friends. It saves time and avoid traffic jams However when I am in big city i dont't ride motorcycle as the accident rate in Malaysia is quite high
