oh...We have fried ice cream sold here in our malls. They have stalls here where they sell fried ice cream. Kinda weird really. I wanted to try but I got weirded out by it. LOL...Fried ice cream started in Dumaguete City. They have a store there that sells only fried ice cream. :)

We used to get fried ice cream all the time at local Mexican restaurants. I haven't had it in years but it was very yummy. The ice cream itself stays pretty solid and doesn't really get fried, just the outer coating which is flavorful. It's usually drizzled with honey and/or chocolate sauce and topped with a little whipped cream. We'd always share an order because it's pretty filling.

We also have it here in the Philippines.. :D Man, now I'm confused on who originated/invented this paradoxical product. Is it the Mexicans or the Filipinos? Though we both were colonized by the Spaniards and we both have the same currency - Peso

heard of it and love it! my friend and i once drove 4 hours to go to a restaurant that serves it(that was the closest restaurant to where we live that served it at that time) except when we got there, we discovered that the restaurant was closed-had gone out of business about a month before! talk about disappointing! but we found another place that has it-and this one is only an hour away!

I have eaten it (popular at Mexican restaurants) and I wasn't all that impressed with it. I tried a fried twinkee the other day and that was another that at least I can say I tried it but again... wasn't all that impressed with it.
Thanks
Zelo

I ate it once and I didn't care for it. I know a lot of people who do like it and eat it often. I just don't care for it.

I've heard of it but never actually tried it...I wouldn't think it would be that good, but never know. I'd try it if given the opportunity.

My middle name is Fried Ice Cream (one of them, anyway).
I'm Ainsley Jo Fried Ice Cream Peanut Butter Guacamole Phillips (and that's not my whole name). LOL

So good!!![/b]
It's like a hard ball of ice cream that's been coated in honey and rolled in cornflakes before being deep-fried for a few seconds.
This is served surrounded by whipped cream, covered with whipped cream, and has a cherry on the top. Usually, it also has some of the honey in the serving dish as well.
Haven't had one since last year, so it's time for another one...or two...or three...

i tried it! actually i think it was fried cause they would pour it into a pan and would let the oven(i think it makes it cold...) and would roll it.
i have never tried the fried ice cream (fried using oils) though. i think there are many variations to it...

I have heard of it and tried it and it is delicious. I went to a Mexican restaurant with my sister. After we ate our meal she looked at me and asked me if I wanted some fried ice cream and I just kinda looked at her. She said that she meant it. It was fried ice cream. So we ordered some and I have to say that it is delicious.
