I was trying to save as I was going along like I normally do but it wouldn't let me untill I had finish inputing because it was missing data.... aarrrggghhh.. then the stupid thing froze.......
Now I have to do it all again.... My brain and eyes are hurting from the darn computer... It is sooooo frustrating... I need a break........... I'm going to cry from th frustration....
Has this happen to you?

Well I've never had THAT much work go lost, but I've encountered a few "crashes". But for me these things are just headaches or hiccups. I love to fix a problem so it's just another thing to tackle.
Like today, the Pres was asking the accounting girl why this one customer's big order didn't show up on the monthly report. The accounting girl was checking it out and couldn't find the invoice at all on any of the monthly reports. Turns out, that particular invoice was billed on Feb. 29th - Leap Day!
The program has reports selected to Previous Month, and it's evidently only programmed to give February 28 days. So no matter what she did she couldn't get it to show up on the report - plus it wouldn't add to March's reports either.
I finally had to dive in and found a spot where I could tell the program what dates to include in the report and finally got her report to show up right. Fun fun fun! ~Tink

Thankfully my program knows it a leap year, but I just had to loose all when i was nearly finished.....
How frustrating for you and the accounting girl... I'm sure your boss wasn't happy... It's not a good feeling when you loose something......

We have had this happen quite alot with our computer. Me and my wife were ready to toss it out the window a few times because of it. We have nicknamed named it the cube since it is always freezing and at most unfortunate times. Talk about something spiking your blood pressure. Best thing is for you to take a break atleast for an hour recoup and start again. I hope you have better luck next time. Maybe also need to get a different browser, We have Firefox and IE. Oh and if our computer had ears and could hear the things we call it when it goes down and freezes or crashes.. I am afraid it wouldn't ever start again my wife can carry on in a bluestreak of pretty bad choice words she has for it. Well, as I said good luck hope you get all your work done up.

I'm Lucky I work at home for my partner's business so I can manage to do it tomorrow, it's just I wanted it out of the way and already done so as I didn't have to stress over not having it done allready...... I can't beleive it's already nearly half way through March, it just goes so quick....
Thank you again

In fact, i've experienced this for a very long time when i bought my laptop new and it was behaving this same way and i felt like crying. i was often angry with my friend who helped me to get it because i couldn't just understand why a new computer would be doing this? i can really see how you're feeling with this problem as it happened to me.

yes I did the same thing with our friend who is our computer technition who set us up... Blamed him for the mishaps, but I geuss it should be expected with electronic devices to play up....
You expect a new item to work perfectly...

Maybe it's time for you to clean up your computer. That thing happened to my computer before, and somebody said to me to transfer some files to cd so that it would wouldn't have to contain a lot files. I also defragment files every week, to make the program run faster.

It does happened to me a lots of time. And for that i used to input whole my data entry work to type again and again. To avoid that problem i just bring down a new Computer for my work which doesn't get hang much, even it gets loaded with high processes.

Yes that has happened to me too many times to count. I have been in the middle of work related projects, or a few occasions some personal writing that I would be about 12 pages into when... you know. lol
I survived but boy was I upset. Now I am obsessed with saving my progress every 5 minutes. I even do it when I am writing on the internet. I have even copy/pasted/saved my mylot discussions while I was in the middle of typing it. Just in case. lol.
Yet, it's happened to me a few times before I got a chance to save. I definitely need a new computer. Mine just lags and eventually freezes and sometimes I can't save. I try to tell myself that if it happens again, it just wasn't meant to be written. Maybe... there was an error or something you overlooked when inputting everything and this was the universes way of having you redo it so everything would be all right this time around. I am not saying that you entered anything wrong but you will never know.. so what I was saying was maybe it happened for a reason and it was a good thing. LOL my silly and feeble attempt at making you feel better. :-)

I usually look at things that way too... I was taking great care however that it was right... Last month when I was doing it I inputted the receipt etc into the wrong month which pissed me off but I could copy it and put it in the right month but that took a while too....
My brain is hurting now so I will have to give up because than I know I will miss something... Having to refer to other documents and the receipts I need to be thinking right..........
Thanks for your help....

Yup, I'm sure such incident will happen to us at one point in time....What I did was to set the document auto save feature to every 5 minutes such that even if the PC froze and unable to operate further, when I reboot the system, I would not have lost too much of the data I keyed in previously. Like you said, no one likes to waste their time and effort and then the whole data got lost..
If your PC is freezing very frequently, maybe you should optimise it a little by doing some defragging, removing unused applications and data. And if that doesn't help, you may want to upgrade the PC a bit to make it work better and more efficient.
That way it helps to safe keep your work and you would not have to cry anymore...PCs are meant to help productivity, not decrease it...
