Do You Always Pay Your Bills on Time?

Do you always pay your bills on time? Some of my friends would pay the bills at the very last minute, but, from what I remember, I never did that. I usually pay my bills like at least 1 week in advance. Some of my friends even forget to pay their bills from time to time, but I don't seem to have a problem with that. What about you?

I usually pay my bills about 2-3 days before they are due to be payed. I have missed the due day about 3 times because of poor planing. We have a board where we pin our bills and I put them in order they have to be payed but somethimes I or my husband mess up and forget about it.

*laughs* Yes, when we have more bills, it's hard to just remember them!

My bills are all on an automatic payment schedule, so they are always paid on time, and like you, I pay them before the due date. I consider it penny wise and pound foolish to wait until the last minute to save a few pennies of interest but then take a chance on being a day late and getting a huge penalty fee.
We do not buy beyond our means, or as we have seen some people do at the grocery store, put products we cannot afford in a cart and wait for the clerk to total them up before deciding if we have enough money to buy them. We have been young and had to stretch our dollars, too, but it was always our habit to go without early in the month in order to be sure that there would be a little left over at the end to put into savings.

Yes that's a really good advice! I was spending "freely" when I was younger, but now I just don't. Maybe my materialistic wants have diminished or I am just getting older and think more of my future and retirement etc. I don't go beyond my means anymore and I try to save early in the month and pay all the bills and put the "leftover" in the savings!

I tried my best to pay bills on time to avoid problems or whatsoever. It gives me peace of mind knowing i dont have overdue bills or shortening of cash.

My bills for the month are $1,000 and now two insurance policies. Meanwhile, I'm taking home $143 a week. If you do the math, you'll see I can't pay my bills right now. My income tax check will come after two of my bills are due, so they will be late, after that, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm liquidating assests as fast as I can, but they aren't coming in until next month.
When I made $2,000 a month, paying on time was pretty easy, but when you haven't got it, you haven't got it. That's where I'm at right now. Take care and hope I get another job. I've got to 5 interviews. 3 said they gave the job to someone else, hoping that one of the last two comes through for me. Take care

I would like to say that I always pay my bills on time but sometimes that is just not the case.
Of course there are many that I do pay on time (mortgage, insurance etc) how ever things like the power or phone that I know can wait a day or so will do so if I do not have the funds.
Having said that though anytime I come into unexpected money the first thing I do is pay some bills regardless of whether they are due or not.

Yea sometimes it's really hard to pay the bills when we are short of money! But every month, I try to pay all the bills with my salary first without spending on other things.

That's really good to set your cell phone as reminder! I usually put the dates in my head!

Nowadays I fail to settle my bills on time due to financial contingencies. This has landed me in deep trouble as pending bills demand late payment and interest charges. I am at a loss these days.

I pay my bills on time although there are really times that I can't do it punctually. Sometimes, I pay the water and electric bills late. Good for me, I still have available water and electric current to use at home. It's always good to be on time.

I usually pay my bills immediately or on the following day once I received them. I don't like to pay the bills in the last minute.

Hello wondericequeen,
Most of the time. Sometimes I do wait till the last minute to pay my bills especially when I am really busy. I do have accesss to internet banking but prefer to go to the bank itself. At least I feel better being able to talk to someone regarding my payment.

I will always pay my bills when it's over time.. LOL ^_^ But it's not that i dun wanna pay, even though i had the bill in my bag with me whenever i go, i will still forget untill i reach home and realise i haven paid my bill.. LOL ^_^ Thus, i had to pay for the extra fees for reminder and late payment.. hehe

I pay most bills on time or early. Sometimes, when money is scarce, I am late with the ones that are less important, like the cable bill. I can live without TV if I have to, but my car insurance is always on time, and my credit card, since the interest rate would go up.
I used to always be late, sometimes from forgetting, but I have a system now where I am organized so I won't forget when a bill is due.

Yes sometimes when the money is short, we have to prioritize our bills and pay the most important ones first!

I try to pay my bills on time but sometimes time gets away from me and other times I don't have the cash on me to pay the bill so it doesn't get paid right away. I hate paying bills late, but sometimes it's just necessary.

hi wondericequeen! ^__^
i also pay my bills on time. actually, its only "bill" coz i only have my internet bills to pay. LOL but in our house, we always pay our bills on time. electricity and telephone bills. we don't want any of that services to be cut-off because it would be a hassle to get it back. and we don't like our bills to accumulate because it gets harder to pay. ^__^;;
as for my internet service, i'd be damned if that gets cut one day because i didn't pay my bills. i have told myself before that i'm getting this service because i can pay for it. and i have to live with that. or else, my mom's gonna taunt me. ^__^;;
