I took a photography class in college. One of our homework assignments was to use a person and take a picture that speaks to their character. My brother was my subject. He posed with our dog, whom he charished, on the front porch during a time of day when it was half shaded. So, half of him was in shadow and half was in the sun. I did it in black and white. I had our dog sit on the sunny side of him as she sort of brought a lot of light into his life. The shady part was to show that you can't always tell what is on his mind. My professor hated it and actually told me that photography is hard and it would only get harder for me. He told me I should reconsider my goal in life. He broke me! Jerk! But, everyone who has ever seen that picture, I framed and hung it in my house, has asked who it was and who we used to have that portrait done. When I tell them the story, they are shocked and they all love that picture. No offense to the professors in the world, but, it was true what they say, those who can do, those who can't, teach! That man was perhaps bitter about his lot in life and took it out on me, crushing me like a bug under his shoes. It has taken friends and family to build me back up. I have to wonder where I would be in life right now if he hadn't so ruthlessly, and apparently, wrongly, taken the wind out of my sails in such a callous manner.

http://tinyurl.com/3ar6gp I took this picture when I was 15. I really loved the lighting and colors in it. What's good about it is I only used a basic Konica manual point-and-shoot camera to take it, and it turned out beautiful.

One of my favorite Black and White photos - image of a brown pelican
Mmmmm....with ONLY 21,049 color slides and an estimated 15,000 black and white images (still a film user) it would be kind of hard to say...I have a lot of favorites but one of my favorites is shown here of a black and white photo of a brown pelican preening its wing

I have these pictures many years ago, when I went to the province that has beaches and many beautiful sceneries. I take pictures of them but I have one picture that is very best for me. The picture of the sunset in the beach, while the sun is going down. It is like a real poster and like a professional photographer.

I think my best picture came from a friend. He took pictures of me once in awhile and I guess he really knows me and he could capture some particular moments of me and I am really happy to see those good pictures. I usually hate looking at the pictures of myself but not those taken by him.

I actually took some very good pictures last fall in northwest wisconsin when the trees were so beautiful. I also just finished doing wedding pictures for the first time and they turned out awesome. It was a very fun experience!

I don't have it anymore, but I think the best picture I took was my junior prom picture. Although I didn't think it would turn out that way. The day before prom, I had to have a tooth pulled because it was rotten. It wasn't in the front and you really couldn't see the gap, but I was very self conscious about it. I knew I didn't want that gap in the picture. So it came time for me and my date to take the picture. I saw, while standing in line, that the photographer was posing every couple the same way, having the guy behind the girl embracing her from behind. That would have had me turned to the side that would show my gap. I wasn't having that at all. It came to be our turn, and the photographer tried to position me the same as she did all the others. I straight up told her that I couldn't stand on that side, I wanted to stand like this. I guess this was the only pose that she knew, because I totally confused her. She looked at me and said, "well what are we going to do?" I stood there for a minute, then got an idea. I put my date in front of me, and put my hand on his shoulder. I had him put his hand around my waist. There, a cute pose!!! She finally snapped the picture. I loved the picture I took!!! Not only was I stunning in the photo, but our pose was original. Obviously the photographer continued posing the couples the same way she was before she took ours. Everyone that saw our pic was jealous, because we were the only ones in the school that had that pose. I wish I had that picture now. I really loved that photo.
