Yes, I have been to Eastern Europe. I went to Hungary to see the beautiful city of Budapest and Lake Balaton. Then I went to the Czech Republic to see the stunning city of Prague and Cesky Krumlov, one of my favorite places in Europe. It is picturesque little town with a medieval square, a castle, a Chinese tower and a river. Wow! Then I went to the interesting city of Bratislava in Slovakia. Next I went to the gem of a city Krakow and the alpine town on Zakapane. I saw a gorgeous lake there. Then I fly into Trieste to get to Croatia cheaply. I took an overnight bus from to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik. Then I went to magical Kator and Budva in Montenegro. I loved the pretty fjord there and the two little islands. Wow! Then I went back to Croatia and did some island hopping. Highlights were the relaxing island of Mjet and the historical town of Trogir. Next I headed up to Slovenia to the picturesque Lake Bled and the seaside town of Piran. I got a flight to Bulgaria and saw a sound and light show over the fortress in the gem of a town that used to be the capital city long ago. Then I saw the pleasant city of Plodiv and the coastal city of Varna. I liked a pretty but a bit run down seaside village south of Burgas on the Black Sea. Next I saw Brasov, Sighisoara and Sinia in Romania. I loved the countryside around the historiacl gem of Brasov and I saw many castles. This summer I am flying off to Latvia and so I will see even more of Eastern Europe. In 1990 when I first went to Eastern Europe travel there was a bargain. However prices have risen sharply since then.

I have only been briefly (3 days) to Dniprovetsk for a football game. I would love to return and see more of the Ukraine as I enjoyed my brief visit. The people were really friendly and it was different to the rest of Europe.
