National DNA database - pro or against?

There was a discussion on TV a few weeks ago about putting everyone's DNA on a national database. At the moment the only people that are on that database are criminals or people who have been charged for a crime until proven innocent, after which their DNA is removed. What do you think about the government wanting everyone's DNA on a national database?

I think it is a good idea. Ther are a lot of first time offenders and they do not have there dna on file so the police have no record of them and do not know who they are, this would eliminate this problem.

I understand what you mean but if your DNA was placed on a database even though you have never committed a crime would you be ok with that or would you object?

I have no problem with it.
