Do you practice or believe in Feng shui?

I've heard of it and do it to a point in my bedroom but I think everyone puts the foot of their bed facing the door right? They say different areas of your home influence different aspects of your life (such as family, career and finances) and ultimately they all affect your well-being. Here are some of the things they suggest: Place your bed so it faces the doorway but is not directly aligned. Ch'i force enters rooms via doorways (known as the mouths of ch'i) and you want to face and welcome that life energy. Yet ch'i is powerful s powerful and too taxing for the body when encountered directly. Remove all telephones, televisions, computers and clock radios, which emit powerful electromagnetic fields that interfere with sleep and depress immunity. Clear away clutter of any kind, including under your bed and in the closet. Even if they’re not in plain view, areas of clutter block energy flow like cholesterol clogs arteries. Hang a 40 to 50-millimeter round and faceted Swarovski or other manmade crystal from a 9-inch red string in the center of your bedroom (the center of any room is the health area). Crystals amplify ch',but natural gems like amethyst, garnet or quartz come with their own energetic frequency so choose a synthetic stone that you can program with your healing intention. Have you ever read about Feng shui and tried it? Do you think it works? What are your thoughts on it?

I have heard of it but never tried it. I saw a show on HGTV where a woman was talking about Feng Shui and I really didn't get it LOL I'm not sure if I can do any of the above you mentioned LOL

I used tobe very much into Feng Shui, ctry, but I have grown lazy in the past year or two. I do believe in the principles of feng shui and still practice some of them. One of my favorites is keeping drains closed when not in use in order to not allow the chi to flow out. I would love to work more with crystals because they have great healing powers.

One of my daughters has been into crystals for years and is always sending them to me for different things. I don't think they work but she swears by them.

Some of the things that you have mentioned are also suggested just as practical matters, like keeping the electronics out of the bedroom, not just because of electromagnetic forces but also because of the mental stimulation. Getting rid of clutter clears your mind. I agree with those things. Hey, do you know if chandelier crystals are in the man made category? My sister gave me three. I know red is for good fortune, but why is the cord to be nine inches long?

I don't know anything about chandeliers other than they are pretty! I'm not sure but I think they are manmade crystals.

Well now that you say, yes the foot of my bed points towards the door in my present house. In my previous house, the foot did not point towards the door but towards the northern wall. Also the head of the bed previously was in the s/w corner whereas now its in the w/s corner. I have never believed in feng shui or vaastushastra (the Indian equivalent) but of course I know of it with so many channels and newspaper columns offering all types advises and remedies. I have a wind-chime on my balcony though, but that’s not for feng-shui, I just love the sound of it. I have a small TV and the phone is in the bedroom too. Regarding clutter, I don’t have any under the bed but my bed has an in-built box underneath where I store any amount of things.

years back I picked up a book on feng shui and although I haven't read it in years there are several things I still practice. My bed has to be facing north and south, I can't sleep or relax with a corner such as a dresser or table pointing at me. Those are the two I remember the most - I do believe there is something to it.

undoubtedly ! feng shui is nothing but a science of directions forms and shapes and about how everything around us has vibrations( natural energies ) and affects our day to day living. similar science ( with a bit of difference in India is called Vaastu shaastra, again science of directions but in a bigger way, this one tells u about various directions and thier affects on the family memebrs / dwellers, it also is based on the effect of 5 elements on human life. both fengshui and vaastu are worth practicing as its the nature that has the secret of life, it knows to lead !
