Well I am a woman, and I wear my watch on my left wrist and so do most women I know except for one who broke her left wrist once so she just got used to wearing it on her right wrist & still does.

I've never heard of it being divided by gender. I'm female and wear mine on my right, but that's because I'm left handed. It's easier for me to buckle the strap with my left hand. I'm pretty sure my mother (right handed) wears hers on her left wrist, so her right hand can be free to work the strap. On the other hand, there is a guy on tv who's left handed and who wears his on his left wrist. I don't know why gender would make a difference here, but I never really did any research.
