Did you ever know someone who was murdered?

This might be a sensitive topic, and I realize that. I don't mean a friend of a friend, but someone you interacted with. I mentioned in a different discussion by someone else, about someone I knew who was murdered. They weren't like family to me and my own family, but we had spent quite a lot of time together and grown to be friends. This was years ago. Did you know someone who was murdered? Share as little or as much as you feel comfortable with.

a old friend of mine's boyfriend was shot and killed in a parking lot over something as stupid as who had the fastest car and racing. it was really devestating as this was the first person that i knew, but wasn't really friends with, that was killed. we were aquaintances, but that is about as far as it went because he was a drunk and loved to start fights. this one just got the better of him. it was really sad, but sometimes things happen for a reason i reckon. i don't know what ever happened to my friend. she lost it and didn't speak to anyone after that forever. i never heard from her again, but she was into alot of stuff to that i didn't agree with. God bless

Well I have personally never met someone who was murdered but my parents are friends with the parents of a girl who was murdered a few years ago. I cannot imagine what they are going through!!! That has got to be the WORST thing ever imaginable.

Yes, I knew a student who was murdered when I was at University. She wasn't a close friend of mine, but I knew her well enough. She was a very close friend to my best friend. I was one of the last people to see her alive. She had approached me in the corridor & asked that I tell Judy that she would be visiting us the following night, at our flat. That night she was murdered on the way to a dance. Her body was found in the early hours of the morning. My best friend was devastated. She was interviewed a number of times by the police, in case she knew of details regarding her last movements & her friends & contacts. The murderer was never found. It was widely believed to be a mafiata murder. She was 19 years at the time of her murder.

So often the way a person is murdered is worse than the fact that they are gone.

Read my response #28 I think about my friend. I was interviewed many many times about both friends relatioships etc. I also had a landlord that murdered a tenant after we had moved out. he actually admitted to the murder after he was tried too quickly and got away with it due to the law of double imdemnity. His story made all the news shows and a couple of gossip rags like the Globe etc. He lost a court cash settlement though for the crime as he did admit to the murder. Lost his homes, car, truck, wife, and job. he moved a few states away last I heard. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I've never actually known anyone that was murdered. However, family members of mine have been murdered (the murders occured before I was born so I never really got to know them). Both were abusive relationship issues that eventually caused their male partners to lose it and kill them. I don't really know a lot of details about either but I think both involved shootings.

It's still so hard to protect someone in an abusive relationship. Even the police can only do so much. It's not fair, and no one seems to be able to come up with any solutions. I guess education. For men and women. Knowing triggers to avoid getting angry, avoiding abusive people, things like that.

Hi Ambie, My eldest girl's godfather was brutally murdered one night, 3 days before Christmas, 4 years ago. It was a very sad Christmas for everyone. From what I can gathered, The main gate outside of their home was left open and 2 guys wearing a mask entered and waited for the couple to sleep. What really struck me odd was why the wife didn't know what was happening when she was right there beside her husband. The 2 masked guys stabbed her husband 46 times. Unbelievable. There were speculation that the wife had set a premeditated murder to kill her husband. The couple was having marital issues for days because the wife spent a fortune in the casino. From all angle, the wife should be placed as the number 1 suspect since she has motives. To this day, I don't know where the wife is. I only know the police is still investigating the crime. An example of how far a desperate person will go just to fulfill his/her greedy heart.

Oh good grief! Unless they knocked her out, how couldn't she know?! That must leave you all with so many questions and no satisfying answers.

Yes, unfortunately there was someone I knew who was murdered.. It was 20 years ago and it was a son of a friend of ours who was thirteen. I had my 3 y/o daughter and he was so good with her, I always thought he would be a great babysitter, but I never found out.. It was a horrible, torturous murder, so I probably will no go any further..

Actually yes I do know of 3 ppl who were murdered and someone who murdered her lover then killed herself..The one gf of mine was raped and murdered by a serial killer several yrs ago....Another one was actually someone I only knew through her brother who was a close friend of mine, she went missing and her body turned up several days later..She'd been raped, mutilated and dumped behind the old Towers building in town..It was actually her brother (my friend) who was originally accused of doing it (he'd been babysitting for her that night)..but they finally caught the guy who did it...She left behind a 2 yr old child..

I knew someone who was murdered. It was our neighbor. A husband with like 8 kids. Those time the eldest is like 12 and the youngest is like 7 months..So pity and good thing, the eldest son witness the incident and was able to escape so they were given justice but the pain left for the family is very depressing!!

mmm a neighbor a couple doors down from me and her 7 year old daughter were murdered - the murderer was our direct next door neighbor on the other side. my husband was tdy for several weeks far from home - this murderous neighbor told me not to worry he will take care of us. That had a whole new meaning after the truth came out. shudder.

I knew a lot of people who was murdered. But I can't forget when my uncle was killed. He was the brother of my father and we lived in their house for a year before. It was really a tragic event since his friends, who were drunk that time, were the ones who killed him. It was so painful on our part really.

Dear AmbiePam, One of my friends father was murder about 5 years back. He was alone at home that and was a ex-army. Till now the police has not caught the culprits. It is also know that it was a well planned murder as he know many secrets of defense. Now the family has shifted to other place and even now the police crime branch comes there to reexamine and collect profs. But not any better evidence has got till now.

I knew someone who was murdered. We weren't close friends, but we had hung out on a few occasions. Talked in class almost every day in middle school. High school, we usually only talked in passing or whenever we bumped into each other in public. He went to a party a couple years ago, and somehow things got out of hand and a fight broke out. He was either severely injured or killed, and his body was thrown off the bluff over the beach. He was missing for months. His family was in agony. When they found what was left of him, no one had any answers. Who ever killed him got away with it, at least for now they did. He was viciously murdered and no one called the police. A whole group of late teens, to early twenty year olds and not a single one of them stopped to think "This is wrong..." And call the cops.

My great uncle was hit in the chest with a crow bar when he tried to break up a marital dispute. His heart exploded in his chest. That is all I know my Dad doesn't really talk about it and my grandfather passed away five years ago. Other than that I do not know anyone who was murdered.

Well anyone that lived in Vancouver BC when this happened would probably remember this since it was on the news for almost a year after it happened. My 24yr old cousin was Stabbed 5 times leaving a house party. The guy that killed him had don't it before and got away scott free. And when he killed my cousin he got 5 years but only served 3 in prison. Losing a loved one is bad enough but when they are murdered it makes it so much worse. He was such a great person and everyone loved him.

Yes, back when I was about 19 a very close friend of mine was brutally murdered. It was horrible. His killer has still never been found and I doubt ever will be. Ironically, my daughter, years later began dating his nephew without knowing the history at all.

A lady that I used to work with was murdered by her son a couple of years ago. The young man was in his early 20's no longer living at home. He and his friend went to the parent's house in the early morning hours with the plan of killing both parents for their life insurance money. The mother was killed, the father escaped. What's really sad is that I know how much that mom loved her son and how much pride and faith that she had in him. My son was the same age so she and I used to spend more time talking about our kids than we did working... to know that she loved him so much and then to hear that he was the one that killed her was very heartbreaking.
