I do that a lot of times especially if I want to make sure that I understand the meaning of the words correctly. I also consult the dictionary on the correct pronunciation of the words.

Only when a new word comes across me !!!. Not always. The word 'dictionary' may have originated from 'diction' (means only way of pronouncing). DICTIONARY has the maximum meanings and pronouncings.

yeah I do consult dictionary all the time, in correct grammar and spelling. Sometimes I'm running out of english words to say and I have to translate our own words (filipino) into english.

I consult a dictionary when there's a word at the tip of my tongue that I can't figure out. But most of the time I don't consult a dictionary. Even when I'm reading. I know. I know. I should keep a dictionary beside me when I'm reading books so that it's easier to check for words that I haven't encountered before. I guess that's the reason why I don't have a rich vocabulary even if I'm a wide reader. But I do know what the words mean. I just can't define it word for word. And I surely can use them in a sentence.
