Do you think it is possible that Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama will run together on the Democratic Ticket for the Presidency of the United States against the Republican Candidate John McCain? We've seen the two Democrats in the poles. They are neck to neck! If they team up, they will be a blade with a spear, a heck of a team. * If so, who will be running for President, and who will be running as Vice President? We've learned from the Bush Presidency that the Vice President is a powerful office in and of it's own right.

I can not forsee either of them taking a step backwards. Nor do I think it would be healthy. First Hillary-Obama: While Obama would give Senator Clinton the midwestern votes she would need, I don't see Obama accepting a VP slot, nor do I think she will win the nomination. Obama-Clinton: Obama has been able to play on the spirit of change theme. Asking Clinton to be his VP would be a turn in the wrong direction. A Clinton in the White House in any form isn't a change per se, it would be putting the political machine in power again.

Well, one of them is going to loose the nomination for the Democratic ticket. Currently it is a one-some game. After one wins, the one-some game can become a one-one game with the looser joining forces with the winner to win the presidency. * Obama wins the Democratic nomination, he collects looser Hillary and nominates her vice president and she still keeps half her dream instead of loosing it entirely. * Hillary wins, she nominates the charismatic Obama as her running mate, and he keeps his half-a-dream. * Two democrats trounce the single Republican? Makes political sense from a Democratic point of view...

While on paper it looks and sounds good, you are not taking into account that McCain still has to choose a VP. Should he go with someone like Condi Rice, Mike Pence, or Tom Coburn, he will bring back a large portion of the Conservative bloc that will not be voting for him. A popular VP selection and McCain would be back on a more level plane with the two super-liberals. However, once again, I think the ego's of both the Democrats will be enough to preclude them from taking a #2 slot. Senator Clinton has never stood #2 to anyone, and I don't see it happening now.

I would hope so! I think they'll be unbeatable if they run together. Can you imagine a black man and a woman together on one ticket? The KKK would be having fits (good news in my opinion). Plus, in 8 years the VP will have a chance at being VP and lots of good experience, too.

I think maybe there is a possibility of Clinton and Obama to run together but my best bet to run for president is Hillary Clinton. She have a winning chance in it.

Her war vote concerns me, even though she claims that she wasn't given all the facts when she voted for the invasion of Iraq.

Clinton and Obama. Yes, if I wrote Clinton & Clinton, me is bad! * The two of them together would be a political hurricane, they would have a better chance together than going it singularly.

In `politics never assume anything because the rules of the game can change unexpectedly. Once a winner is name things can go anyway.

We've already had a number of rules broken, such as a black and a female running successful campaigns. You are right about that. McCain is the only 'conventional' bird in the flock!

I think that this Clinton/Obama ticket could happen. It looks like Obama is ahead if you look at the primaries and it that continues he will probably the presidential candidate with Hilary as the Vice President. I hope this does not happen. In my opinion, Obama does nnot have the experience to president of the United State. He has only served in the Senate for three years. In no way does that prepare him for being president. On the other hand Hilary is far to liberal to run this country right now. Put these two together and you have a disaster. However, they are both very strong in the poles, so it might mean a very, very strong ticket. McCain is pretty strong in the poles as well, so it might just be a race down tok the last state. Looks to be a very interesting election day come this November.

Obama does however have the Charisma to draw the masses of the nation, and Hillary the experience, so if they can work as a team they can be effective as one. * McCain's war views concern me greatly, as I don't think this nation has the resources for an extended war that he discusses. So do his close ties to President Bush. We are already beyond over extended militarily, and a general draft isn't an answer as that provides an under-qualified solder. *

That is they stopped the racist remarks against each other and tried really had to put the hot campaigns behind them-I feel it is a wonderful idea that could bring McCain sweating all through the Campaign to the white house-someone needs to intimate to these two deomcrat politicians this idea

The Democrats can't just take it for granted that the Republican party is a lame duck despite all the damage done it by Bush & Chaney. McCain is a good politician but I am concerned that he is stuck in the horrid past of his captivity, and an attack on Iran in our current state of vulnerability would be a disastrous misstep. Iran is fully capable of fighting a gorilla war, an arena we aren't good at as the Vietcong showed us...

I don't see why you feel it wouldn't. Honestly, I would love for both of them to be in office. I didn't vote in Texas primaries because I am hearing them both. They want the same things. They both want to end the war, same outlooks on healthcare and employment basically, the only difference is one is a white woman (whom I loved when Bill was in office), and one is a black man (who has very strong intentions). Either way it goes, history is going to be made.

Well, whatever happens to the looser, he will not just go poof. (Or she for that matter.) Al Gore is a case in point. Gore has a great deal of influence on world and national politics even though he lost to Bush in the Presidential elections thanks to that film of his, "An Inconvenient Truth."

Doubtful. Depending on Supreme Court interprettation, I could see Bill running as Hilary's VP! That could be his way around term limits! LOL!

Maybe, then maybe not. Bill could still have power as 'first gentleman' because he's stuck his foot in it during the campaign. He needs to hide a bit. He does however know how to read the direction the wind is blowing.

Obama said he would not take the number two slot (VP) but I think there is something in the wings and they may be some dealing going on. The move would draw more support for the democratic race since they are the only two running. Personally, I can't stand the idea that both of them want to drive our country more in debt with this health care issue. We are in a recession as is, why make it any worse?
• United States
13 Mar 08
The problem of health care is leaving the uninsured to suffer means it costs more to treat advanced ills rather than prevent them early. Besides, the Iraq war is bleeding far more than any health care plan. Bush's spending outweighs any Democrat's largess.
• United States
13 Mar 08
I have no arguement with the idea of covering people who are uninsured/under insured. Preventive measures means alot more then an emergency room visit! And Iraq? That is an expense we can do without but not in a 'surrender and run' tactic. The problem that I have is who will be covered? All Americans? Even the 'guest workers'? And the sum of the equation is...do you really what a system that wastes thousands of dollars purchasing hammer and toilet seats run a blank check book on health care? What is your view on the Mexico fence and illegals?

Frankly, the over priced toilets are a cover for some kind of black ops spending. * The situation in Iraq is simply a quagmire to get at the oil, it has nothing whatsoever to do with people much less the Iraqis. It may be a launch pad into Iran God forbid! * I would like to see all American citizens covered medically. * I don't know how I feel about the guest workers themselves. That is a sticky mess made by exploitive corporations. We need to do something about the exploiters, then the illegal problem will sort itself out. * As far as the Mexico fence, my main worry about that border is what is coming in alongside all the Mexicans. Not all of them are Mexican. Some are Al-Qaeda and Hamas and they look Mexican to the untrained eye. They take the trouble to learn Spanish or Spanglish and adopt Mexican ways to blend with the Mexican population thus hiding themselves.

I'm not from the USA, but I hope Obama gets up in the election. With him, there'll be ideals, ideas, excitement. With Hillary there'll be another bloody Clinton in Office, no make that two of them. Ho Hum. That'll give the red-necks a needed wake-up call, won't it? A man of colour. An actual thinking person after the moron who's been misleading the worl these past years. Go Obama!

we are now familiar with Clinton's style when he was the president of USA. and we are willing to wait Hillary show her personal style. now, back to your question,I don't think both obama and Hillary need to run together only for wining the election tickets.. After the iraq war,we were bored by the conservative parts and we desire something to be changed.

I don't think they can run together I think what we need now is a true leader. Many people say Clinton is great but what dis she do when she was first lady? how much power does she want? Clinton is loaded with excuses. She's not ready to be a leader. She sux really. She will mess up again. I think they need to get ready for their old age and stay home watch their grand kids.

I don't remember how long it's been sense the President has ever really ran anything alone, with the possible exception of Bush and he badly! Usually the President turns to advisers and is in a crux of the House & Congress. Bush just chose to ignore everyone...except his VP.

I know right now it seems quite far-fetched but I think it's more than possible since I honestly belive both candidates want what's best for their country and their party; I should say, they know what's best for their party IS what's best for the country! There was a time not too long ago when I'd have said the two of them running on the same ticket would be too "risky" but I now think it would be unbeatable. Annie

Intriguing...I mean the title of your discussion...talks about Clinton and Hillary, instead of Obama and Hillary as per the body of your discussion. I guess you really meant Obama. In that case I don't think either one is willing to be second fiddle and run for vice-president instead. You're right...the team up would be a hurricane...but it's really more of a wishful thinking. Let's face it...both are really strong contenders, I guess no one would give in ...

One is going to loose. That is the fact. You can't have two presidents, two Democratic nominees. * Someone is going to be kicked to the curb. The curb sitter is the one who will be the one who will be VP. That's what I am thinking...and the curb sitter will be the realist, taking the offer for VP spot, the winner wanting the Presidency sure shot, and being another realist, will take the curb sitter up, and let the hurricane begin.

Hi craftyCorner, I think it could happen if Hillary gets the nomination, but I'm not sure of the other way around. I think they would be an unbeatable team, and there will probably be pressure to go that way. Blessings.

Both, especially Hillary, are politically aware. The looser here would want the chance of keeping half a dream alive rather than loose the whole bag.
13 Mar 08
it is quite possible my friend. despite of the little skirmishes and the ups and downs i think it is still possible as both of them stand for the same party. moreover both of them stand for the same cause.,.

I will bet Euros to doggie crappers that some of those spats are arranged to get hairy eyeballs on the TV sets of America. Conflict makes for excellent drama in what otherwise could be pretty dry political stuff. * Good grief, the Democrats (especially Obama) even got You Tube kiddies in the act! * You Tube ~ http://youtube.com/results?search_query=obama+kids&search_type=

I'd love to see this happen and hope that it would be Clinton-Obama, because I feel that she could actually do the job (even though her campaigning is a little questionable). I'm not sure if Obama would compromise and run as vice prez (not that he needs to going by votes) but Clinton might if she had enough power as a vice president. I don't how they'd work together but it's better than having McCain and Huckabee or Romney leading the country.

Another Republican would lead to a glass parking lot or two somewhere on this planet! Your right about that. Bush has already led us to a Recession this side of the Second Great Depression!
