How many children do you have and how many did you want?

I had three. I wanted thirteen! When I was growing up I always wanted to have a bunch of kids. I was blessed with three. But in many ways I got my wish. This was the house everyone hung out at...and everyone called me mom. I have pictures on my refrigerator of the children of the "kids" that called me mom so I did get my wish! How about you? Do you have as many children as you wanted?

Well growing up I always wanted two children. I wanted a boy and a girl, with the boy being the oldest. Now I am proud to say that I got exactly what I wanted plus one extra. 5 years ago I met my soul mate. At that time I had a son and he had a son. It was love at first sight and about two months after we got together I ended up pregnant with our daughter. So in the end I got 3 beautiful children. Two boys and one girl, with the boys being older than my daughter. I am extremely happy and wouldn't trade them for anything in this world.

Then you have a perfectly happy blended family and that's wonderful! My daughter lost two..got a divorce and married a man with custody...believe it or not...those kids are the same age that my daughters own kids would have been...and we all love them like they are from our own blood!

Sounds like you had a good time with your children and all the others that were at your house as well.
We had three kids but I wanted six. It just didn't work out since I had major problems carrying babies to full term. Our first daughter was born 3 weeks early and the other 2 were very difficult to carry. I had injections so I wouldn't deliver early and went into labor with all 3 at 5 months. It was a chore but today we have 3 happy, healthy adults.

Last November my husband and I was blessed with our first little boy and we are hoping that is the first of at least 4 children. I was an only child and I always wished I had brothers or sisters. I want to have a big family. If everything works out, we wish to have six children. My husband, six children, three cats, one turtle, and me. Sounds perfect!

Coming from a large close knit family, I always wanted to have a large one too. I have 3 sons of my own and then I have 4 step children. I absolutely love kids and wanted more of my own, but unfortunately I wasn't allowed that luxury. I am perfectly happy with what I was blessed with.

Jillhill... 13? Wow! That's a lot! :D
I have 2 kids. I wish I could have at least five kids, but since my 2 kids were born via C-section, the maximum now I can have is only 3. :(
(although my OB-Gyn told me she knew of someone who had 5 C-sections! Whew!)

I can honestly say that I have as many children as I want. I have a grand total of... ZERO children! I don't want any. I don't ever want any and I'm hoping to get myself sterilized soon. I just don't like kids. I really don't. Please spare me all the cliches. It won't be any different if they're my own. I still won't like them.

Thanks! Until I get my procedure done, I'm doing what I can to make sure it doesn't happen. You seem to believe me when I say I don't want to and I appreciate that. Nobody ever believes me and EVERYONE always tells me I'll end up chaning my mind. Umm... no, I really won't.

My husband and I have four living children. We lost two at birth and we had wanted eight but my body was not up to it. My children are all grown up now and having children of their own. So far we have 12 living grandchildren.

I had two children both females, but my plan was to have them closer in age to each other. Low salaries in the military made us change our plans for having two children right away. It wasn't easy caring for my oldest daughter with my husband gone and she didn't sleep very much in the early years. The other wives really helped me so much and I was quite lucky to have help.
Our younger daughter was born a lot of years later when many people are having grandchildren. We were very lucky, as it was a high risk pregnancy. She slept through the night right away and was very quiet. My husband says its because we were so relaxed and happy that she sensed our feelings.

I have just the one 5 year old son and have been trying for the last 3 years for another but have not been blessed yet. We have always wanted three kids in total but that is Ok. If it happens it happens, if not, I am still blessed with what I have. My son is my life :)

I do not have any yet, I am still in college but when I graduate and get married I want to have four. Any more than four would be overwhelming, one would get lonely, with two they have no choices as to who they hang with on family vacations and with three there is always one left out, three is such an ackward number, so I think four would be the perfect number, preferably two girls and two boys but I will be happy with whatever God gives me!

This is sort of a tough question for me. I have 3 children, all grown now. At the time I knew that was all we could afford and I had complications with my 2nd and 3rd but now that they are grown I wish I would have had many more. It does get so lonely and lonesome with them all grown and lives of their own.
So, yes I had as many as I wanted at the time but not as many as I wish now that I would have had.

When I was growing up, I always thought I wanted a huge family! But then I actually had a child, and the truth of how difficult parenthood can be began to sink in.
We have two children now, and I am very happy with that. I have the time and energy to give my two children love and attention and still have a little bit of time to pursue my own interests. This number of children feels like the best fit for me to be the best parent I can be for them.

I never wanted any until I was at least late twenties, Id had my first one by 18! After the horrors of childbirth and an extremely bad relationship with the father, I was not going to have anymore EVER!! I stuck with this as well until I was 25 and my son was 7, then I met someone and I went on to have 3 more children. So now I have 4 and it is very hard work, but I wouldnt change it for the world, but I do wish I could have met my husband sooner so that there wasnt such a big age gap between the eldest and the others.

I gave birth to and raised two by myself. Married into two more. Adopted two adorable teen/tween sibling boys about two years ago. Now we are going to foster two children ages 0-4 until a little girl becomes adoptable. The foster agency asked me if the little girl has a sibling would I take it also. I told them that they wouldn't have to twist my arm! If someone would build my house bigger, I would have a ton of kids and spoil every single one of them.

Extreme Makeovers would probably just think I'm some crazy lady for wanting so many children. LOL Thank you SOOOOOO much for the best response. I'm going to need every penny I can get for the two babies that are on the way.

I have 1 daughter and 3 step sons.
When I was growing up I wanted like 6 kids because I was the only child growing up and I didn't want my child to go threw the same thing.
Even though she pretty much is because her brothers live with their mother. So she only gets to see them every other weekend.
