I would like it, if I can make it with baked beans instead, because I don't eat pork..

I love homemade bread. Is it for a bread maker? I don't have one of those. But I would love the recipe if it can be made without the bread maker :)
The bread sounds delicious and is it southern?
Thanks

I love home made bread and I always wanted to make my own and then I heard stories of how people never get it right the first couple of times so I just forgot about it, but I have to say you have aroused my interest again and I might just try.

Oh goodness, I love homemade bread. Mom never had much time when I was a kid, but she did make it a few times and I remember we'd all get in line to 'punch the bread' before she would bake it. What fun! And the smell of fresh bread baking? You can't top that!
I've made it (well, tried to) a few times but it's never come out right for me. I think I get too anxious and try to rush things instead of following the directions. I've used a bread machine and it's ok, but still not the same.
I did buy some yeast a week or two ago and I think I'm going to give it another shot. I haven't tried in years, so maybe I'll have gathered some patience in my old age.
:)

Send me a friend request and then you can send it in a msg here. I'd love it!
I did break down and make two loaves of bread tonight. It's the first time in probably 10-12 years that I've tried, and they came out pretty good!

Hi there... Yes we are a family that loves home made bread, wether it be fried bread, yeast bread, self raising flour bread, which is just plain old self raising flour and water, needed into a dough, very nice with jam and butter, or golden syrup... I must try this uniquely named bread, as Im from new zealand and have never heard of such a bread... Cheers, have a great day...

I LOVE homemade bread but the only problem is that my mother could never bake it. However, I have a few wonderful friends that can and my golly does it taste GREAT.
Now, I just love to walk past a bakery and smell that unique smell that just gets your mouth tingling and salvinating over some fresh bread. If I smell that, then I will go in and buy some regardless if I have some in the house or not.
Now pork and bean I've not heard of and as I am hopeless at baking anything like that, I will have to leave for now. But it sure does sound special.
Thanks for leaving me here with a smile on my face, dreaming of fresh bread....
