I finally got the results of my CT scan

Between my surgeon and the nurse practitioner I finally was able to get an appointment so that he could examine the hernia repair site. The clinic is pretty much insanely busy, so it took quite a bit of jostling to get me in. But I'm so glad it finally happened. There was nothing on the CT scan indicating that I needed another surgery. It turns out that there was only a minor infection at the site, and nothing more. The pain is just about completely gone, and the drainage has almost completely stopped. I'm so relieved....I really didn't want to have to go through more surgery again. Thank you all for being so willing to listen to me fret and stress over all of this stuff. I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it many more times....I honestly don't think I could have held up through all of this stuff without all of you wonderful friends. Big warm fuzzy hugs to everyone......Carryl

Well that must be a load off your mind, and also off the mind of your family. How are you getting around? I'm not really familiar with how slow or fast the recovery is. I know it is painful, but that is about it. Have you noticed significant weight loss? I'm trying to keep losing weight (I've lost 10 lbs.), but I'm trying to tone too. My worst fear is having saggy skin when the weight is gone. I can't afford to pay for a surgery to remove that! I don't know if I would have saggy skin in the first place, does a person have to be a certain amount overweight?

I'm actually getting around pretty well now. I even drove myself to my appointment today, which takes about an hour one way, and I wasn't dying in pain by the time I got home. In fact, almost all the pain and soreness is gone. Congrats on the weight loss hon. Good job. I think the saggy skin happens when you lose the weight way too fast. The skin can't retract back that fast, so it ends up being loose. Just keep working on toning your muscles, and make sure to drink lots of water...that really helps too. Hugs to you sweetie. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately I didn't have much choice. Things were too busy at work for hubby to take the time off. I'm a bit sore today from it, but it's not too bad.

Love the new avatar hon! And thanks for stopping in. I really didn't want to have to deal with another surgery. I know the anesthesiologists would not have put anything in the IV to keep me from getting sick, and that was my biggest worry. Big hugs to you my friend.

Tigger and my LittleBit are definitely two peas in a pod then. LittleBit won't even let me have privacy in the bathroom! I'll see this little calico paw snake under the door and then she starts scratching for all she's worth until I let her in. LOL!

Thanks! That's Tigger hamming it up as usual. He's always hopping up on my desk for attention.

Thanks hon. I've actually been doing a bit of much needed house cleaning today. My poor house looks so awful right now...hubby is most definitely not the maid type. LOL

That's why I'm now playing on the computer. It's my break from the housework. You know me so well already! My mama always did say I was stubborn and hard headed and did what I wanted. Has she been whispering to you from up in the clouds? LOL Hubby is the kind of person that when he vacuums he throws everything into a pile on the sofa and it will stay there until I can get to it. I've forbidden him to throw anything out because it never fails...he throws out something that I need every darned time. But at least he tries. I keep telling him that he would look awfully cute in the maid outfit with the fishnet stockings. Hahahahahahaha!

LOL! That's my biggest problem with being down for a while... Hun and Mosh do a good job, but it takes a week to get the dishes put in the right cupboards, get my laundry done up, etc... plus, he eats takeout, and I have to get that straight! Just try not to overdo... I know you're smart enough to take it easy, but I still worry! Hugs!

Well if yours is just a cat scan, then it shouldn't be too bad. The 'tube' for mine just looked like a huge donut, not a cave like the MRI machines. Hopefully that's what yours will be. Thanks sweetie, and I will be keeping you in my prayers for your scan. Love you bunches.

Thank you so much sweetie. Most of my pain is completely gone. There's just a little bit of soreness on the left side of my abdomen where the surgeon did the most work, but that's not even very bad. I'm so glad I'm finally on the road to full recovery. Thanks again hon...big hugs to you.

That is so very true. Loneliness and sadness can definitely make sickness last much much longer. Thanks so much my friend. Big HUGS to you.
