No need to go further..

It's already summer here in our country, me and my friends are planning for another summer adventure in a beach. We are near the coastal areas, lots of resorts here and we expect that more tourists and families would gather on commercial beaches. We're planning to spend it on a place were only a few folks knew, hoping that we could have more time where we could spend a little bit of privacy. Since lent will be starting this next week, March 16 to be exact. We planned to spend an overnight stay on the beach, Saturdays and up until the afternoon of Easter Sunday.. Now on spending a vacation, do you really have to travel a lot and go further knowing that you could simply enjoy it on places that are near you? Taking money aside, would you go spend your vacation on far away places?

hello there to U...good for you...there are lots of beach resorts near your place...that's really cool...well, in my situation, i live near the city, so me and my friends really needs to travel far from the city just to enjoy the Lent Season... I've always wanted to go to beaches, take a vacation to my grandparents hometown, or go to other places like in the mountains to experience cool adventures... Although, i did promise to myself not to do the "adventure thing" anymore...well, that started when i was still in College...we passed and journeyed 7 mountains, and over the hilltops...that experience was really terrifying and scary...i almost fell down over the cliff that time...so i did promise myself not to do adventure stuffs again... But things have changed...i really did miss going to other places with my friends...i want to have a vacation from work...because i'm always working, and i'm always in the air conditioned room...i want to breath fresh air too...i want to go to beaches and get relax... Spending money for a vaction, in my own opinion, is a good thing too...it's not about the money, it's about the wonderful experience, and those beautiful places that makes it worth spending... Well, in your case, good for you...because you need not to go or travel far away just to enjoy and spend your great vacation...i hope you will have a blessed and Holy Lenten Season...this is really a cool discussion...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

I've been traveling almost every year, been to Bicol, Baguio, Batangas and also on the provinces in Visayas. Since my friends are here with me, I decided to spend the summer with them where we could all enjoy. Not all of them could afford the budget going on far away places, so I chose a place where almost all of us could be together and enjoy the fun without worrying for a big budget! I do hope that you find a time on having a good and enjoying vacation, you deserve it and thank you for your wonderful response!

I just look for a good timing when doing that, sometimes it's also work-related that I just try my best to enjoy whenever I could slip some minute in-between work and pleasure! Happy easter to you, thanks again for dropping by..

Maybe it depends on my budget for this coming summer. It is very nice to go to the province and spent the summer in the beach or something new, but here in our country it is very expensive. Sometimes here in our house we have a big pool and we pour it with water so the kids can swim even here in our house.

I've been planning of buying a mini-pool also, for my niece to enjoy and for me to cool myself off when the weather is so hot and humid like this. I just can't seem to find anything that's durable enough, to hold me off and which could withstand those spiked objects when laid on the ground. There are also some private and public pools that I'm sure are available on your place, you just have to look for it if you plan to spend your summer with just your family and only a minimal amount of budget.

Oh the beach, I love the beach. When we lived in Samoa we would retreat to the beach and spend the whole weekend in a fale (a beach house with thatched roofing). It was very refreshing sleeping by the sea. Whoever owned them would provide 3x meals a day and then we would spend the rest of our time swimming and basking in the sun. Now that we don't live anywhere near a beach, the last family holiday we took was to Florida which is about 2 1/2 hours away by plane. It was the best family vacation ever and we had a lot of fun too. I hope we get to do that again one day in the near future. Summertime for us will be spent at home, either at parks, playgrounds, museums, and even at the local community center with other kids.

If time permits, then why not my friend?! It's always fun to enjoy vacation and travel on far away places, especially when we know that the place is a one of the best tourists spots. But I thought of exploring some beaches which is near my town, that I haven't tried checking out yet because I was too busy focusing my thoughts on other places. Now, my goal is to explore what my place has to offer first, then maybe visit the others that comes next to my mind. I believe that Samoa is also a surfer's haven, I hope I could visit your hometown someday and then maybe learn some surfing tricks if lucky..

I think it is great that your home country has sunny weather and gorgeous beaches. Where I live we only have warm weather in June, July and August. It can be pleasant in May and September but the rest of the year is cold. I am very keen on traveling overseas and have only in the last few years enjoyed seeing more of my own country. I love to go to tropical islands and these are far from where I live. The best ones of these that I have been to are the Seychelles, Samoa, French Polynesia and the Cook Islands. I like to see native wild animals that come from different countries in the world. I have been on a safari in Kenya, have seen kangaroos and koalas in Australia and penguins and dolphins in New Zealand. I like to see interesting architecture and have seen this in Prague, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Salzburg and Lisbon. I like to go to historical places and have been to Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and seen the Mayan ruins of Guatemala.

I sometimes wish that we have a place here where we could experience some snow, so we could have another way of spending summer differently. You seem to enjoy going around the world and exploring, I hope I could do that too someday! Anyways, thank you for sharing and always have a great day.

when i was in college i was more adventurous. i liked to travel to different places. now i'm more of a home person. i don't like flying. if it's 1 or 2 hours it's still ok, but any longer than that i don't enjoy it. not to mention the hassle we have to go through at the airport with security and everything. so yeah, i'd prefer to go to places nearby where i can just drive.

Hehe! Only a few of my friends could afford to have a vacation on far away places, but since I want to be with all of them, I decided to be with them instead of enjoying the time with only a few or worse, alone.

The only reason I would want to go far away would be to see family. We do have some nice places around to vacation at all times of the year. I hope you have tons of fun.

Yes, family and relatives who live on far away places are the most reason why most of us would travel far. It sure is, we'll go there as a group and hopefully everyone would enjoy it..

the best vacation for me is at home , in my room , in my bed. away from work and the hassle of everyday life. i got everything i need and i do not need to go somewhere to have a vacation. when i go somewhere , it is not a vacation for , it is actually an activity , an adventure to have fun and it is not really what you call a vacation.

You seem to have a very different approach, I like that also and I respect your way of having your own vacation. For me, I celebrate it with friends and the fun of being with them. Being just at home can be boring at times, and since I need to gather fresh air, I might as well bring some friends with me. As they say, the more, the merrier..

oi raijin! do you live Island Cove? have you gone there? is it great there? my family aren't used to going on an outing during the Holy Week. we usually stay at home during that holy time. and watch tv/dvd all day. ^__^;; some of my nephews and nieces and cousins go to a local "beach" spot though. if you have heard of the "malakoko" beach, that's where they go. its an underdeveloped hot spring spa near the lake which is really popular during the Holy Week. hey, i've told you about this before right?? anyway, that's where they go usually. if not, they'll just take a dip in the lake to take off the heat.

Yes, I live near it and the place was not that bad. Me and my cousin along with his co-workers went to Laguna just last month for their team building, I don't know the exact place but I believe it's somewhere near Mt. Makiling. Coming from the exit, I believe it only took us for about 15 to 20 minutes before we arrived on the resort that I somehow forgotten the name already.. Well anyways, it's always fun to spend the vacation with a group of friends. I'm expecting that there will be 20 of us, not to mention those who will make late decisions and would want to join us.

Hi...and I notice you are almost to your 6,000th post. Good for you! I finally made my 2,000th and now I am settling into waiting and watching to see how long it will take me to climb up to the next thousand. Anyway on to your discussion. Yesterday was the first day that it felt like Spring is actually starting. Whether it will last or not is hard to tell. David and I also enjoy the beach and there are a few within an hour or two from where we live. Grand Beach is East of Winnipeg and one of the 10 best beaches in the world...at least it used to be. I enjoy getting away and it can be near or far. We love the Southwest part of the U.S., Vancouver and would like to travel to Alaska and Costa Rica some day. We have one dog and five cats so we have to consider them when thinking about vacations. At this point we are taking mini-vacations throughout the year rather than having to concern ourselves about leaving the animals in someone else's care for too long. Raia

Yes, we have to also consider the one's that'll be left behind. Just like in your case, people would rather enjoy their time on nearby places and spend a day or two relaxing and having fun. Well, I do hope that you enjoy your spring time there in your place. We don't have anything like that here, as I do wish I could experience it someday! Good luck on your daily activities, have a great day and week of lent as well.
