I am a day late answering this discussion because of the myLot issues yesterday. Do you keep something hot or cold in the house to drink that is hot or cold? If my sweet tooth is killing me I drink a regular soda or make hot chocolate.
I live a little over a mile from the store but if I wanted chocolate bad enough, I'd walk. I love candy and probably because I never grew up. It's fun to continue to be a kid.

LOL not the best day terry .
Well, myself, I took a nap :):)
It felt good too, since I was talking to my daughter and her friends until really late last night.
Hope you found a chocolate substitute and felt better after :)

When I am craving something sweet I will eat a piece of fruit and that gives me the sugar boost I need, especially bananas. Never mind Terry, it's Easter next weekend and I'm sure the Easter Bunny won't forget you, because you've been good haven't you! Hope you've managed to satisfy your craving by now ;0)

Take some sugar , put it on a hot pan melt it, add some chopped or whole nuts and roll it on
biscuit powder spread on a tray and have it.
Add some powdered cookies to a little bit of condensed milk, some vanilla essaence or plain cocoa/ dried coffee and make this into balls. You can roll them on choppped nuts and have them.

I wish I did have a suggestion but instead I can sympathize with you because I've been there and it isn't a pretty sight. Sometimes I get such a craving for something sweet, especially chocolate and I have none and no way to get any and I feel like I'm going to die! On the other hand, if I stock up and make sure I have plenty - you guessed it - I'll eat it ALL!

Aww poor Terry! last night was hard enough when we couldn't respond but to be stuck without chocolate! Awful! Did you have any hot chocolate in the house - drinking that may have satisfied those cravings! I am lucky I guess as I don't eat a lot of chocolate or sweets but my other half does so I can usually find something if I get the urge! If I had been you last night I would probably have broken in to all the easter eggs I have bought for the kids friends! lol xxx

If you can't keep your mind off be being busy, do you have any cocoa? Usually in some recipes you can substitute cocoa and shortening for baking chocolate and make brownies..:)

Awww sorry Terry no suggestions here. We went grocery shopping earlier and bought another batch of ready-made biscuit mixes (choco chip and oatmeal) and guess what we did with it today? we baked it and gobbled it down in 20 minutes (the three of us haha). So sorry .. hope you managed to get some chocos today

If you have sugar, TerryZ, you could always whip up a batch of cookies in no time flat. French toast or cinnamon toast also comes to mind. Sorry, I can't think of a chocolate substitute.

HaHa, you're so funny. You know what I do Terry when I don't have anything really sweet in the house? I make myself some Hot Chocolate and Cinammon Toast. That seems to do the trick. Just that little bit of sugar seems to work and it tastes so yummy, mmmmmm. Wish I had some right this very minute, mmmmm. And, it's so easy to make, nice and quick.

I don't eat sweets anymore right now(I'm on the low carb diet). But my husband would die without sweets in our house. He thinks sweets are a must. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't respond and stuff on my lot. I might just go crazy.

Must you take chocolate everday? You better watch your health for chocolate is too sweet if you take daily. Be honest, chocolate and ice-cream are two of my favourite food too however I try to control myself from taking them regulary. Right now I am taking chocolate while I send this posting but I can control myself for not taking it for a certain period of time. If you're talking about coffee, that I cannot withdraw especially in the morning.

If I can't get chocolate, I find that scoffing pasta dishes normally sorts out my cravings. Weird as it's not sweet, but I've always been the same.
The best solution of course is to make sure you never run out of chocolate :-)
