What kinds of rings do you wear?

Toe rings? Earrings? Finger rings? Thumb rings? Do you wear them often? Do you have a lot to choose from? Do you prefer silver or gold? Are there any special memories attached to the rings you own? Have you ever melted down a ring and had a new one made from it? One of my favourite rings broke yesterday. It was a silver thumb ring that I've worn on my left thumb for over 3 years now. It came with a matching toe ring, which is still in great shape. My left hand feels naked without this thumb ring, and I am looking forward to shopping for a new one to replace it on Friday or Saturday. All of the rings I wear are silver. I don't care much for yellow gold. I don't have too many finger rings, and only ever really wear two... the thumb ring that broke, and an irish claddagh ring. I also wear toe rings year round. I used to only wear them in the summer, but this year decided to wear them all winter, and I've had no issues. I'm glad I did. I love them so! Earrings, I change up a bit, but only slightly. I have 3 holes in my left ear, and 2 in my right. I always wear silver sleepers in the second holes, and recently bought a cute little silver shamrock for the 3rd hole in my left. The original earring holes I wear either irish themed dangly ones, or white gold hoops.

I only usually wear 2 rings. My wedding ring and one of two pearl rings that my hubby bought me. One of the pearl rings, my hubby bought for me in Hawaii on our honeymoon. The setting has two Mai Lei (sp) leaves around the pearl. I got the pearl out of an oyster at one of the Hawaiian jewelry stores. I picked the oyster and inside was this huge pearl. It is really an impressive size. The other pearl ring is something that I saw that I really liked when the hubby and I were looking for watches one day around a year ago. I was going to buy it for myself but, the hubby insisted they add it to the watches we picked out. The setting is sort of like an eye shaped circle with tiny little diamonds and and X shape under that. It is simple and pretty. I switch them every other day. I wear them on my ring finger on my right hand. My wedding set is gold and my pearls are set in silver for one and white gold for the other. I have 4 piercings in my left ear and 2 in my right but, I only wear one set of earrings in each ear. I only have about 3 or 4 sets of earrings that I wear because, for a while, I couldn't wear them without making my ears itch. I used to wear toe rings. Just one on each foot. But, my feet are sort of atrocious and, I tended to get pain when I would wear them.

The toe rings do take some getting used to, that's for sure. And some styles of shoes are just no good for them. I haven't seen too many pearl rings.. that is very unique. And to have two at that! :)

I don't think it's that weird. When is the last time you saw anyone wear a real pearl necklace? They say the style is classic, but it's really not very common anymore. I have a string of real pearls that my uncle gave to me when I got married. I don't think I've ever worn them. I was married in 1997. lol.

You got that right. When I wore toe rings, I definitely had some shoes that I could wear that would be more comfortable than others. Macy's has a gray colored pearl ring that I am totally coveting! I think they are called Tahecian pearls and they are so beautiful. That is the next one I want to get. The weird thing is that I am not really a pearl girl. I don't like pearl necklaces. I have seen some pearl necklaces that are pretty but, they are just not my thing. But, show me a pretty pearl ring and I can't resist. So weird huh?

I'm fond of silvers, from bracelets to rings. The one's I have are puzzled rings, I put it on my left ring finger. It does have any special memories in it, since a friend of mine just gave it to me as a token of our relationship.

I only wear one gold ring on my fingers. Was given it years and years ago and I've never taken it off since. Actually I just tried to take it off and it won't come off anyway lol! It's quite plain so it goes with everything and I forget I'm wearing it. It doesn't have any sentimental significance, I just never bothered taking it off again. I wear toe rings a lot too, particularly if I'm wearing sandals so that's usually mostly in the summer. I have a bit of a thing about my feet looking nice. Think it's maybe because I don't like my hands much so I compensate by dressing up my feet! I wear earrings all the time, usually big hoops with beads or sparkly stuff on them. I don't do subtle when it comes to earrings. I never, ever go out without earrings - in fact when I think of it I don't even sit around the house without earrings in either! I don't feel dressed unless I'm wearing them. I have a pierced nose so sometimes wear a nose ring but not that often and when I do it's usually just a small sparkly stud. If I'm going to wear one it's normally when I'm going out at night but I don't wear them often these days, just often enough to stop the hole closing up but as I had it done years ago I'm not sure if it would now anyway.

I don't think I would suit one of those little studs in my nose. I love the look of them on many women, but I don't think it's for me. I know of a few people who have that ring issue, where it's on for good. In most cases, it's wedding rings.

I had lost a bunch of weight, and my pants, which had buttons on the insides (dress pants), were catching onto the bar. One wrong turn and it would rip a little. It was at the point where it was barely hanging on, so I decided to take it out completely and let it heal.

I wear toe rings in summer when I can wear mules and flip flops, but I dont wear them when I cant show my feet. I dont wear thumb rings and I dont have many other rings but I would love to have more rings. I only have my ears pierced one time in each side, I just was never brave enough to go any further! But I love my earrings, love hoops and shiny ones. Have a good shopping trip!

The movie wasn't all that great (Horton Hears a Who), but I did find a new thumb ring. Just a plain silver band. I also bought a celtic knotted pinky ring for my right hand. :) The boys go back to school on Monday, but it's a short week because of Easter next weekend.

Sterling Silver rules!!!! I wear finger rings, earrings, toe rings and thumb rings....alll in silver. Love them so much...i got rings for the yard and rings to wear when i go out..they are totally cool!!! A few of my rings have memories with them some good, some bad(well actually, the bad ones i can't take i dont wear), but other than that I wear them all the time, except sleeping time. Only silver i love....gotta purchase a special silver chain to go with the jewelry i have now...had some but don't like them now..out of date..lol!!i have two holes in both ears and only wear silver knobs...got a few of them for different occasions. I wear three toe rings....two on the right foot and one on the left, two have hearts that represent my new life and new love(im recently divorced)...the other is just a dolphin, this represents the freedom i have and love!!! I love silver jewelry people...love not like...oh yeah!!! much love my peeps!!!

If money isn't an issue, I'd say go with the white gold. It looks pretty much the same, only there's less maintenance involved. Of course, if you like that look tarnished silver gives, especially in designs, then you should go with the silver (IF that's the style of ring you're looking at).

That is way cool....i've always loved silver, but didn't start wearing until after my divorce as well!!! However, i got a little problem...i do tend on getting married again....and my new love can't wear silver...a total drag for me.....so we decided on white gold what looks like silver....tell me friends what do you think? Should I get the white gold or the silver to match his gold? Please I love silver!!!!!

I almost always wore hoops as well. They're my usual standby. It's only in the last year that I've started getting some different earrings... mostly with celtic knotting designs. Oh how I love the celtic knotting!

I wear three rings constantly, on the second and third fingers of my left hand, but when I go out, i add another to my right hand, on the little finger and two on the left, on my second and little fingers. They're all silver, bar one. Silver is related to the Moon, so it suits me to wear that. The single gold one is a "footprints" ring which I wear in memory of my lovely grandson who left this world, aged 7 years and 3 months. I like to wear large, hoop earrings best but I have several pairs of "dangly" ones. The reason for this is that I have long hair, and small ones don't even show! Most of them are silver based again, and some have meaningful stones in them, but again, I have a couple of pairs of gold ones. Brightest Blessings.

I wear my wedding ring and engagement ring on my ring finger as well as an earring in each ear. They are all in yellow god, as I just don't care for white gold, sorry. I wear my rings everyday and usually the same earrings too, though I do have a few different ones to choose from. I just prefer the ones that I wear on a daily basis as they are just so darn cute.

I wear a ring on my left hand ring finger and that is about it - rarely I might put another ring on but this is very rare. I do prefer silver or white gold to yellow gold. I also like black hills tri colored gold. I have not worn earrings in around 20 years. I do not miss wearing them at all. I think my toes are too odd to put rings on them, lol. I find jewelry uncomfortable and obtrusive for the most part.

I had many years when I didn't care to wear much jewelry at all, especially when my kids were really young. It just wasn't practical to chance either hurting them by accidentally scratching them with a ring, or having them tug on a bracelet or necklace and busting it.

I'm going to try one more time to make this post. Twice I've typed all of this and had it crash on post. That iss veery frustrating. But, here we go... In an effort to try and maintain the tameness of this thread, I'll put it this way... I have a tongue ring, a belly ring and another piercing between. My belly ring is 10kt gold with a diamond in it. This came from my best friend. I have a whole collection of other styles of belly rings, but I only wear those for special occasions or when I'm looking to add some color. My other piercing rings are surgical steel which is what they were pierced with at the time. I'm highly allergic to the titanium ones. I have many rings, but only wear certain ones consistently. On my left hand, I wear my wedding band set which is gold and diamonds and another simple gold and diamond band on my middle finger. On my right hand, I wear three rings normally, but my gold thumb ring broke and I have not yet replaced it either. Other than that, I wear a tri-color gold ring on my ring finger that came from a special girlfriend of mine and a sapphire/diamond gold ring on my pinky. I don't know why I haven't been very big on silver before. Maybe if my next wedding set is in platinum or white gold, then I can look at wearing more silver. I do have a temporary wedding set in silver with a cubic zirconia and a regular silver ring for the other hand for when we go out somewhere and I'm wearing silver or something with a lot of metal in it. Other than that, I just can't stand to mix precious metals. Sometimes I even have a hard time wearing the tri-color ring because of the white gold band. My right ear has two piercings and my left ear has one. I normally only wear one set of earrings becasue the extra piercing seems to get irritated easily. And last, but not least, I have worn toe rings, but none that have been very comfortable or lasted long. I just need to buy a decent toe ring that I can wear whether I'm wearing tennis shoes or sandals.

You are very brave to get that piercing in between. I don't have the nerve for that, but have quite a few friends who have gotten it done. I know some gals who got pierced below the belly rings too. That is taking it way too far for me. EEK! I was having those same posting issues on mylot yesterday. I started using the copy and paste feature until it would post. So far today, so good.

Unfortunately for me, I am not a high enough level myLotter to be able to utilize the copy and paste function. So I am having to copy all of my posts that are not simple responses and paste them into notepad so I can just retype it all when I try to post again. myLot has acknowledged that they have been having issues with bugs and whatnot, but that they are working on it. And then to top it all off, our internet connection has been having problems as well. I do think we have things fixed on our end now though. For now, I'm going to start typing all my responses and comments in notepad and then just retype them into the dialog boxes after that. Maybe I will quit losing so many responses that way.

I wear two rings. A gold signet ring that my parents gave me when I was 21 and my wedding ring. The latter was bought literally with the loose change that we could find in our pockets. I had just been turned down for a loan and we were broke. But we both wanted rings. We saw mine, paid £11 for it, and apart from the odd bath, it hasn't been off my finger since. Awww.

I love rings of all sorts. I only have one piercing left in each ear and make my own earrings. I also wear a ring on my ring finger and one on my middle finger of the other hand. The one on my ring finger was my late mothers ring. It was her wedding band made form gold nuggets found in my uncle's goldmine. I prefer silver but this one is gold. The other ring was an engagement ring from a wedding that never took place. We ended things on a friendly note knowing it wasn't to be so I kept the ring and still wear it. I just love jewelry and wish I could afford more!

Not really a jewllery person, but the all have a sentimental value. Ellie :D

I wear my wedding band (at least I did until I gained weight and now that I am losing the weight I hope to be able to wear it again soon.) It is a thin gold band on either side of the engagement ring- also a thin gold band with a diamond. Other than that, I occasionally wear earrings- only one pair though I have three holes in each ear. (The third one of which I do not recall getting and only know I have it because that was my daughters argument when she wanted hers done twice. I had to go look to see if I really did have three- yikes!) I used to wear a particular pair all the time but took them out to wear something differnt one day and now I haven't worn any in quite a while. Gold or silver tone: When it comes to home decorating, I hate gold tone...but when it comes to my jewelry it has to be gold. Some costume jewelry pieces I have are silver, but the "real" stuff has to be gold. Fun discussion!

I used to adore gold jewelry as well. I always wanted one of those thick gold chains that were flat, and often in a "V" shape at the bottom. I can't remember the name of them now. If I were to see one like that in silver now, I'd definitely buy it. I have 3 holes in my left ear; the third hole pierced back in the summer of 1990. A few xmases, my mother noticed it and told me it was too much. You should've seen the look on her face when I told her I'd had it for 15 years at that point! Roflmao!!

I usually only wear finger rings, and which I only own 2. They were both given to me by my boyfriend. The first, I can no longer wear until I get it fixed. It is the promise ring he gave me on our first Christmas together, almost 5 years ago. The second ring is still on my finger, and it was a gold and diamond ring that he got me for our 4 year anniversary. I usually never take these rings off, as they mean a lot to me, unless of course in the case that one of them broke. I also have earings that he bought me, 2 pairs, but they are too fancy for everday wear. I usually wear those when we go out somewhere nice, or on special occasions like weddings and what not. I recently went to a wedding, but did not bring them with me, due to taking a plane and what not, and it was a long way from home so I didn't want to lose them.

Yes, the belly rings do take some getting used to, and take a long time to heal. And true, some people are turned off by them.
