What is the worst injury you've ever had?

We've all been there. Fortunately, I've never had any major injuries like broken bones bigger than fingers. I think I may have fractured one of my wrists, but I never got it looked at so I won't count it!
The worst injury for me was a head injury. I was about seven, and my parents and I had just come home.
We'd been shopping, or maybe visiting family in the area. It was mid-day, and very bright out. I was in a great mood - I skipped up the front steps onto the porch, calling out to my parents that I would grab the mail. They went around back and into the house.
I found out later that one of my shoes was untied. As I bounded back down the steps (there were 4 counting the landing and ground) I immediately stepped on one of the laces and flew forward off of the porch. I pushed my arms out to try to stop the fall, because I was falling towards the car, and thought maybe I could grab it.
I remember feeling like I had made contact with the car. I'm not sure what happened after that. I suppose I must have been over-extended for my height, because I hit my head anyway. Bad. It was surprisingly painful.
I was scared. I don't think I could see. I screamed at the top of my lungs for Dad, because he's tall, and I just wanted someone there as soon as possible.
My Mom didn't want to put me through the ER if she didn't have to, because I'd been through a lot. But I couldn't stay awake. She told me that I could sleep for 25 minutes and then she would take me to the hospital. I said okay, and then she shook me and I snapped at her that she'd said she'd give me time to sleep. She had.
I had to get a lot of X-Rays, and fortunately I had no concussion or brain damage :)
I feel fortunate never to have had a real, life-changing injury so far in my life, and hope I can maintain that trend.

When I was 12 I got a staph infection that settled in my hip. It cause osteomylitis and I had to have a hip replacement. I had to learn to walk all over again. then because of growing, I had to have another hip replacement when I was almost 18.

Hmm...I've never really had any truly serious injuries before too..The worst injury..When I was 12 (What's that your grade 6?) I was playing hopscotch in school when I fell and dislocated both my wrists simultaneously. I had to wear two slings and I looked like a dork lol~ Needless to say, I haven't played hopscotch since then!

I've never had anything really major, either. The worst I can remember was when I was in high school. I was home during the summer, and I decided to open a can of pears for lunch. I know it was a stupid thing to do, but my mother is a neat freak, so I took the can lid out to the garbage in the garage. When I went to open the garage door, I saw a spider in the immediate vicinity of the handle. It scared me, I jumped and the can lid sliced my left thumb from top to bottom. My mother had just arrived home from lunch, so she was able to take me right to the ER. She gets shaky at the sight of blood, so I almost lost her on the way. I ended up with 8 stitches which got me out of playing baseball the next week when I went to camp.

I've had a couple of deep blade injuries, one from a new carving knife I was removing from its wrapper and the other while sharpening a pair of scissors.
But my deepest injuries are the sudden loss of both parents, the agonizing loss of my brother to cancer a few years ago, and the loss of my husband's health and ability when he suffered his massive stroke. Loss is a type of mental injury. So I have had both types of injury, physical and mental.

I've been pretty lucky. Never a broken bone or anything. But right now I have carpal tunnel. It hurts so bad. I had to quit a fun work at home job because I was in tears after my shift from pain.

I never really have had any "really" bad injuries. Just a few broken bones or fractured. The worse one was probally when I broke my thumb, but it wasn't bad becuase I broke my thumb, it was really just bad because they put a full arm cast on me. Which I had to wear for about 2 months. This meant no video games, sports or anything for 2 sports. Well anything I had to use 2 hands and thumbs with at least...

Third degree burns to 85% of my body when I was 9, put me in the hospital for 11 1/2 months, 10 surgeries, one fractured leg, kidney failure, liver failure, infections, scared lungs and the list goes on, all from the same accident, spent 3 years going back and forth to the hospital, and after 25 years I have to go back in on November 22nd for more surgery to my leg, think this time they may take it...not a bad thing I think, as at times it really causes me a lot of pain.

I broke two of my toes when I was younger. I couldn't walk for like a week. And then when I thought I was healing, I reinjured it. To this day I have a big gap between my toes, ew

I was pounding on the door for my brother to let me in and my hand slipped up and broke the window. I had a deep gash on my palm and i took a chunk out of my pinky finger. I still have the scars.
