Usually I try and stay up late especially at weekends when I don't have to get up and do school run but Its on 9pm and I'm knackered. I've been like that lately, last night I stayed up until just after 11pm and thats the latest I've een up for a week or so. I remember 8/10 years ago I'd go to work go clubbing and pubbing and still be at work for 7am the next day, now I think I'd need a week to recover! Anyone else in my sitation. The worst thing is I'm only 28!

Hello dear mychattime. I usually go to bed at around eleven, but if the next day is my day off, I would stay up till more than twelve or later or just around twelve. It depends on how tired I feel and how clear I feel in the mind. But like what you said, if I stay up too late, it will make me very comfortable the next day if I could not sleep late. In most cases, I wake up at six o'clock in the morning when the weather gets warmer though I do not want to wake up that earlier. But it seems that however late I go to sleep, I would wake up automatically by then. I feel so bad if I want to sleep longer but unable to.

Now that I'm unemployed I usually go to sleep pretty late all week. Just last night I went to sleep at about 4:30 or so. When I was working I usually went to bed at 11 or so, and I'd get up to go to work at 6.

My husband doesn't work due to back problems and he tends to stay up late as he has a sleep in the afternoon, I do the school runs as it takes him ages to get moving in the morning! He has no set routine and no job to get up for so figures he can lay in or whatever!

Thanks oneandonemakessix. I hope I find a job soon too. And I'm guessing that most people have that sleep schedule like me and your husband when their out of a job. Take care.

Yes this does seem to happen as we grow up and settle down! I think its terrible really, I too used to go out til all hours every weekend and get absolutely sloshed and then roll into work a few hours later. Now I panic if I get invited out because I know I cannot handle it anymore! The thought of having a hangover and staying up until the early hours fills me with dread. Mainly because I know my children will be wanting to get up at 7am and my 2 yr old still does not sleep through the night. I was going to bed by 11pm in the week but now I am staying up until midnight but it is not agreeing with me and most days I feel rough because I have not had enough sleep.

I know what you mean about kids not sleeping through, my 4 year old still wakes up, especially if he knows I've been drinking and then he wants to get up early the next day! I think he does it on purpose!

Right now I work a really weird work schedule...I am off on Sunday & Monday.
Tuesday 10P-8A
Wednesday 2:30P - 10:30P
Thursday 9A - 10P
Friday 9A - 10:30P
Saturday 8A-10P
I can't seem to sleep at all. I stayed up after I got home last night to see my husband, we have not seen each other since Monday, we went to bed about 5:30 A, he got home about 4:30 - I woke up at 8A and could not go back to sleep, yet I have no energy.
I am almost 55

When i was in college, i usually went to bed after the electricity was cut, which was usually at 11:00 PM. After i got washed, the actual time i was in bed was often 11:30 to 12:00 PM. And i could stay in bed until 10AM the next morning if i did not have class.
Now i have a job. I usually go to bed between 11:00 to 12:00. And get up at 6:30 the next morning.I get used to it and do not feel very tired.
And my advice for u is to do some exercise, body-building.That will help u much.

Thanks I think you are right about exercise, I walk the dog and walk my son to and from school but I found when I am doing an aerobics video I was a bit better, still knackered at the end of the day but it did help and a few years ago I did boxercise which was excellent for giving mne energy. I've moved since then though and need to find something!

I am such a night owl. Unfortunately I have a back problem and finding work is not easy. I also find that I so love the quiet time of the night. The kids are in bed and hubby's tucked in ready for another day at work.
I have my candles around me and I will toy around on the computer until sometimes five or six in the morning. Luckily I don't have to get up for anything. My kids are all grown, 13, 18 and 22.
We also live in the middle of nowhere, so there isn't even much traffic going by.
This is my most favorite time of the day. I have always hated the morning, ALWAYS!
But soon this will come to an end cause I've just got to find some work.
I have tried all these SCAMS on the internet. They all want money. Obviously if I'm not working 1. I don't have a credit card and 2. I have no money.
I am a medical transcriptionist by trade and can type up to 110 words per minute.
Because I have two herniated discs and osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, a job in the home would be ideal, but I don't see it out there.
Anyway nighttime is the best time.
See ya nightowls.

You poor thing, my husband has back problems and is unable to work, wish he would though so I get a bit of time to myself . . I know thatprobbly sounds terrible. I have seen several things on mylot about work from home, But I too have been caught with scams! If you can look on one of my old discussions about guru someone gave me a good website with work from home jobs on. Have a look if you can if not let me know and I will send you the webpage.

i do usually go to bed at 2am and wake up at 7am for work. if weekend i sleep at 4-5am, this is my way of sleeping. sometimes i just only 2 hours sleeping in a day...i am 31 now and i am not very particular with sleep until i found out that my weight reduce...i increase my time of sleep from 2-3 hours every to 4-5 hours...and now i recovered my normal weight. lack of sleep is also dangerous to our health can caused serious illnesses.

I really dont know how you do it, my body wouldn't be able to cope with that amount of sleep all the time! Have you been doing that for a while as I know they say once you get into a routine your body sticks to it.

I think thats great if you can go to bed at that time and not be tired the next day, I would only be able to do that for a few days probably!

At weekdays, I normally sleep around 11 o'clock in the evening. During weekend I stay sometimes at around 5 o'clock in the morning facing my computer or reading a good book.

5 in the morning? There is no way I could do that I stayed up till 2am a while ago and was tired for the following week! Wish I could stay up later and not suffer so much!

I understand where your coming from. I used to be able to stay up all night long, now I have too! It seems harder, working overnight, to stay up, then it did when I didn't have to stay up. I'm actually getting quite exhausted just typing about going to sleep right now. It is 2:30am here as I type this, and my boyfriend has been sleeping beside me for already 3 hours. I think it's about time I snuggle up next to him and get a few winks.

Actually, it depends on whether tomorrow I have classes or not. Usually at weekdays I go to bed at 11:30pm and get up early at 7am. But at weekends I always go to bed at 2am because I always get into the internet at Friday or Saturday night.
But I know that go to bed late is bad for a human especially women. I'm a 19-year-old girl so I should protect my health. Going to bed late is bad for women's skin and body.

My husband and I go to bed when we get tired. Sometimes my huband goes to bed early, and sometimes I join him, till he goes to sleep. If I feel like getting back up and do some things, I will, but if I want to stay in bed, I'll just go to sleep.

I am a person need more than 10 hours' sleep. So no matter how busy the day is, I will try to go to bed before 12 in the night.
So that I can fall asleep easily while can recover better than other time.
I think to modern people like us, we have so less sleep, and our body is not in a good shape.
If the situation last more than 10 years, I think in our 40s, we can enjoy uour body any more.

Hi. mychattime. I usually go to bed around 10 at night. I get so sleepy then. I tend to also go to bed at 9 at night too. I can stay up until 11:45 pm on certain days that my body will let me. Otherwise, I am usually asleep and in bed by 9 or 10 at night.

It's good that you feel sleepy and that you can sleep much. You are 28, you are young. It's the oldies who can't sleep. By what you've written it's a proven fact that you've got a long way from getting old. Enjoy your youth, sleep as much as you can. No guarantee you'll be able to sleep this long when you reach 80
;)
